Absolutely wonderful campsite with all the rustic charm you could desire!The owner is lovely and extremely helpful from the get go. We adored the natural vibe, the lush greenery of the place and the feeling of staying in the woods.We met wonderful neighbours who were kind enough to share their bbq with us and we had a delicious dinner that we shared with another neighbour, giving our night a community feel that we love.The shower is delightful! With actual hot water unlike some “fancier” campsites we’ve stayed in. I would most definitely return on my next road trip and can’t wait to see what wonderful flowers and herbs are growing then.Thank you for the space you’ve created.

Beautiful, natural, peaceful campsite, just how it should be. Near the river and lots of natural growth and flowers. Norbert was such a wonderful host and genuinely good person, he went out of his way to help us arrange recovery for our vehicle with a flat tyre, we are so grateful to him and hope to return and stay again sometime. We went at first by mistake to the neighbouring camping site...noisy, offering all kinds of things we didn't want or need and three times the price. We were delighted to find our way here...quiet, amongst trees, near river, generous site for our van and tent. Incredibly good value, and our genial host was happy to sell us some much needed cold drinks. Shower block somewhat rustic, but very clean. We loved our stay

What a wonderful find this campsite was. Enjoyed speaking with Norbert. Also enjoyed the bread and croissants from the bakery a short walk away.

La Courtine is a wonderful camping site. Very quite, close to the Allier and very green with old trees and bushes providing shadow and privacy. The owner is extremely helpful and also organizes your kayak/canoe tour on the Allier. Just leave it to him and everything will be taken care of.
