CAMPING PONT DU ROUFFET

This is a very pleasant site with much to recommend. It is right beside the lake although the water level is maybe 5m below pitch level and there is a steepish path down, the photos are a bit misleading but hard to take a picture that makes it clear so this is not a criticism, just advising. We were on a pitch looking out over the water, fabulous view. Swimming is great and other campers recommended the fishing.Ko and Aline are lovely, friendly and helpful, I do not recognise them as described in other reviews.However a warning for maybe older or less fit visitors - like us! If you are on the lower pitches near the water there is a very steep hill up to the toilet/shower/ toilet empty facilities which by the way are immaculate. If you want to visit away from the site the approach roads are narrow, single lane and twisty in places. The end result is that it seems to take ages to go anywhere or in other words it feels like there is nothing genuinely local. There is no doubt that were I younger I would not feel the downsides in the way that I do now so this a purely personal observation.

Friendly campsite located on the shore of a long lake. An ideal destination for kayakers, anglers and swimmers.

Great owners, amazing atmosphere, great local food, and the lake is astounding.Great place for vacation!
