LES BOIS DU CHATELAS

Super stay at Les BdCWe had a super two-week holiday at Les Bois du Chatelas. We absolutely loved the location, so secluded, scenic and tranquil.The campsite has a fantastic pool complex and waterslides, and everything is conveniently located in the central area, which is beautifully landscaped. We never had an issue getting a sunbed - even when the pool was at its busiest - and there is a lovely, relaxed vibe at the pool.The animation team were excellent - consistently working hard all day and always in good humour. Our kids didn't go to the kids club but loved the afternoon and evening activities (especially the Kermesse, pool activities and the mini disco).We were the only Irish family on the campsite (very few English speakers generally, we didn't mind this at all), and we found the staff to be exceptionally friendly and helpful (and indeed, all the locals we encountered in the region). A special thanks to Azealia who was so kind to us throughout.We stayed in a 4 bed premium mobile with spa. The panoramic views from our terrace were spectacular. Our mobiles were spotlessly clean and fitted out with everything we needed.We loved everything about the site and hope to return. It's our seventh French campsite and our favourite so far. It's a perfect spot if you're after total peace and quiet with a little bit of family entertainment.If we could suggest some small improvements, it would be great if the pool snack bar was open every day (opening hours were somewhat haphazard). Alternatively, if the restaurant served crepes/gauffres at lunchtime, that would be great. The splash park could probably do with an update. Honestly though, we have no complaints. Even the rubbish bins/waste disposal area was so modern and tidy!Thank you Les Bois du Chatelas - a la prochaine!

Dream location and great pool areal. Restaurant and bars could be better.Very friendly staff in the reception. Had an answer to all our questions.Our home was very nice and the view was amazing, but the beds was much to hard for a comfortable sleep. We really enjoyed the kitchen, which had all the equipment we needed.The pool areal and waterslides was very nice. The area around the campsite was very nice and pretty. Clean and tidy everywhere. Big compliments.The restaurant could be better. The quality of the food, was far from top level. You need to send your pizzachef to a school in Italy, so he or she can learn to make at decent pizza. The pizzas was some of the worst i have ever had. The waiters and waitresses were nice and helpful.Why is the poolbar only open from 15 to 18?? That is really strange. It should open sooner and close later. The bartender in the poolbar was very friendly.The animation at night did not follow the time schedule. Sometimes it did not finish until a few minutes before midnight. That is too late with so much noise. Entertainers mostly speak french and almost no english. All the quizzes was in frenchOtherwise it was ok.Overall a very nice stay. We would like to come again sometime.

Terrible. We have just arrived and have a pitch near the center. The sound of the blowers of the jumping castles lasted until 22:00. We hoped it would be quiet by then but then the disco started. It is now 23:00 and our kids can’t sleep because of the very loud noise. I regret booking this campsite. Can’t believe I paid almost 90 euros per night for this.And I don’t even mind waiting one hour for our pizzas (we ate at 21:00)Update few days later: the blowers of the jumping castles are still on at 23:30. Crazy. Be sure not to stay on pitch 16-20.

4th year on this site, we love it! We’ve got a couple of favorite cottages, great views on the surrounding scenery. Either the Chatelas ruins or the mountain pass La Chaudiere. Super clean, 3 different swimming pools and a water slide, the kids keep asking us to go back. Family oriented but I’m sure kids up to 16-18 will have a great time too. Fun animation, really considerate to take everyone in but not overdoing it. Super friendly staff. Quite possible not the last time here!

If you enjoy mixing family holidays with a some cycling or walking and absolutely amazing scenery. You will love it. This area is like a lost valley from the lost world. You can do a 40 mile bike ride from the campsite in the morning and see hardly any traffic whatsoever. Some challenging hills and climbs. The campsite has great pool facilities and activity clubs to keep you busy all day long.
