Latest reviews for CAMPING DOMAINE LE PRA DE MARS
A beautiful campsite right on the banks of the Louire. Lots of space and a very natural environment. Loads for the kids to do and a lovely pool. Do not miss out on the food and drink on site as it is superb. This had the most relaxed feel of any campsite I have ever visited. Thank you for an amazing stay.
We had a wonderful 10 days at Pra de Mars. Eric, Stephanie and Luca made us feel very welcome. Eric sat down with me on the first morning and made some excellent recommendations for what to do nearby. Probably the perfect, family friendly river spot. Shallow parts for children to play in, deeper parts for swimming, rocks to jump off and above all a lovely temperature. Stephanie’s cooking is excellent and we had two very enjoyable evening meals as well as baguettes and pastries each morning. For those who are after a slightly quieter, more rustic, family friendly campsite I cannot recommend this place highly enough.
I can not praise the owners of this site enough. Eric & Stephanie were the perfect hosts, they made our stay all the more worthwhile that we did not want to leave. Eric could not do enough for you. He took the time to explain in english what the contents of each meal was available on their menu. When the meal was chosen it was over to Stephanie to prepare and cook the meal on her own. Both Pauline and I had the beef steak (baffette) and they were both cooked to perfection. I ran up a bar tab of some, 37 euros which i didn't realise was cash only, and which i did not have. Eric said it was no problem i could pay the following day when we went out and got the money from a cash point. On our last nights, (we only stayed 2 nights) Eric & Stephanie joined us at our table for drinks and a good laugh. The site itself was spacious, clean and I could not fault it. We had a lovely pitch right in front of the river. The toilets/shower blocks were very clean. We can't comment on the pool as we did not use it. You are give an electronic pass for the main barrier which they do not take a deposit for, unlike our last site that took 40 euros from my visa card.Great site, great location and fantastic host. we will definitely be back again.Roy & Pauline
I went to this campsite last year with my kids. Best place to stay by the Loire river. The owners are very laid back. They guys goes on and on about his travel stories to Thailand, Cambodia... Pretty decent (and cheap) food too. Try those homemade burger with hand cut chips, delicious! Quiet area, not overcrowded with tourists.
DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS CAMPING !! The owners are despisable ! They were highly unprofessional, low key mean, unpolite and tightwad. Especially the male owner: he drinks too much wine, smokes cigarettes while serving food, has anger issues and doesn't apply anti-covid mesures. We saw him scream at a french family and some kids that were just playing cards and having fun. They called the police on teenagers who were just playing music without disturbing anyone else. The hygiene is miserable, the sanitaries are rarely cleaned and badly maintained. They have a little restaurant but the food is too expensive and frankly not that good (frozen food, watery sauces). The camping is quite far from the closest village so there's no escaping !! To conclude the only nice thing there is the river (with a nice natural bathing spot) and the many sports facilities (but again you have to be super quiet ugh). We should have stayed in holland.
