Latest reviews for CAMPING LA FERME DE LA SERRAZ
We stayed 5 nights on a camping pitch, overall we had a good time and the facilities and pool were very good. The restaurant was excellent. The staff were lovely and very helpful. The location is excellent near to the lake and amenetites in the village which is also pretty to walk around. The views of the mountains were stunning. We were disappointed with the locations of the camping pitches in the middle of a very noisy and busy area of the site between the bar restaurant, children's entertainment, toilets and swimming pool. Children used our pitch to cut across to the toilets regularly. The evening entertainment was very loud and went on late which is difficult if you are in a tent right next to it! I would stay again because the campsite itself was very good but not in school holidays as the entertainment is too close by the camping pitches. I'm sure the mobile homes are fine as they are further away and better insulated and they looked very nice to stay in.
Bad experience. We tried to pay on card on last night in the restaurant. We were told that that it was cash only a d to pay the next morning. We tried to do this but for some reason they did not have access to the bill. Upon return home we underwent an unpleasant experience of emails from the owner around d this payment. It was difficult to facilitate a payment for the meal. We were accused of dishonesty. We had every intention of paying and maintained email communication to try and do so. The only way to pay was a BACs transfer which was going to incur a fee. The owner reluctantly agreed to factor this in with the payment. An unpleasant end to our holiday.
We have mixed feelings. As a tent/caravan/camper owner, we felt like we were not much of a priority for the camping owner but the mobile homes are. The sanitair is very outdated and was not cleaned well and the showers could not remain its temperature (changing to too cold or too hot while not touching the shower button).Besides this, the number of camping places in comparison to the number of mobile homes made us think the camping places are just to 'fill up' some remaining space. Also, we were not informed about the construction place next to the camping places and the noise that came along with it. We had hoped to be informed about this before our arrival...So, we would not recommend this camping to camp. However, the camping is just fine when planning to stay in a mobile home!
The toiletbuilding could be modernized. It is also not well located as it is far from most campsites with the toilets ‘hidden’ at the back. Electricity was too far away for my cable (over 20 meters). Swimming pool is simple but nice, campsites look good, but not all campsites have shade which is not so nice during hot summers. No shop. Small restaurant. Friendly staff. I give 3 stars because it is a camping with five stars and I expect a bit more from a 5-star camping.
So yeah, arrived mid-June at a nice quiet fine with Canvas. Site is small and very clean. Pool is grand but suspect it would be too small peak season. The main reason to be here is access to the mountains, lake and activities like hiking, biking and para gliding. Views from the camp site are stunning.Camp facilities are poor in early season and average in high season. No dedicated shop for example. However, you are only 5 minutes from a market Carrefour, which while expensive, would still be cheaper than a site shop.Pitches are closer than you did expect but privacy is fine.Highly recommended.
