CAMPING BELLEVUE

When we'll come back to this area, we'll definitely stay here again and we'd recommend it to anyone else. Camping Bellevue has the most amazing view towards the mountains (just look at the attached photo I took) - it was so lovely to wake up seeing this for a week, gonna miss this.Very friendly owners. Lots of space in the camping, also quiet, and good facilities - toilets, showers. Everything was just perfect.It's close to where the athletes pass on the UTMB course, their first checkpoint, so we could see and cheer them all.

My 4 star rating is based on functionality for TMB hikers. The basic necessities are good: clean and spacious sanitary facilities that includes toilet paper, hand soap, nice warm showers and the facilities building itself is also heated which is great. You do have to go a few stories down to access it but there is also an elevator. There is also a place to charge your phone at the little reception kiosk. There are a few places to eat at 5 mins walk and the TMB is just around the corner. The staff was very friendly. So for the hiker, this is a good place to stay for a night. For the average holidaymaker I would not necessarily recommend a prolonged stay here because it’s not the most charming camp site (large field with all small tents nearly on top of each other and another field for some camper vans). The views are nice though!

Bad points - No shade, over crowded, like a car park for tents. If you arrive late like us and the main field is full you literally have to pitch your tent on a ski slope.Good points - nice clean toilets and hot showers. Friendly welcome. Close to the start of TMB.

This is a great camping spot! The only downside is that there is not one spot of shade. So if you are arriving during the day in summer (like we did), expect to be dealing with some serious heat and sun. After the sun went down behind the hill at around 19:00 it was basically perfect - not too crowded, amazing view, quiet. There’s a building with really spacious and clean showers and bathrooms, and there’s even a room with big sinks for washing clothes and dishes (and it has a view). You can also shower here even if you aren’t camping the night, for 4 euros. One night cost us 16 euros for two people and one tent - definitely worth it!
