A lovely campsite with a Patisserie virtually next door and directly on the cycle route round the lake. This campsite should be 5 star but it just isn't. What does it lack? Heart & Soul...There are lots of things you can't do, hang up washing, swim when the staff have left. The pool shuts at 6pm.The staff should provide toilet roll....bring your own.Water is restricted, but you can't stop it flowing! & you may worry that 7 minutes of water in the shower per person per day is not enough, but I struggled to use even a fifth & I love my showers! So no one has a clue how much people really use!The restaurant is advertised as open in June, we left on 28th and they were still building it. No one told us when we booked it wouldn't be available, no one contacted us to say it wouldn't be available and arriving on a Monday to find it, and every other restaurant in walking distance was closed Mondays & Tuesdays was not ideal. So no customer focus there!!!Nor any customer care in our email which said we could check in until 7pm....there were no staff after 6pm.It's a lovely campsite but it's focused on profits, not customers. Which explains why it was the quietest campsite we've been to.

Nice campsite. We were there in June so really quiet. Only issue some facilities not open every night such as bar and restaurant. Great views of mountain from our pitch. Short drive or cycle to get to lake. Cycle path runs behind campsite. Nearby Boulangerie which has great baguettes and amazing cakes.

I have given this campsite every opportunity to respond to my complaints in private but they have been unwilling to do so and as such I feel it is only right to warn other people about the attitude of the owners. We stayed for 3 nights in August. On arrival we were told that there was a problem with the hot water but it would be fixed by the following day. It was not. We went and asked for updates at reception each day but we’re told there was no change. We had no hot water for showers or washing up for the entirety of our stay. On leaving I asked if there would be a solution and some compensation for the inconvenience. The receptionist phoned the owners and assured me that they would be in touch to discuss. Which they haven’t been. I have since emailed a few times to ask for updates but had no reply. I then resorted to leaving a comment on a Facebook post - which was deleted TWICE but still no communication from the campsite. I then emailed them AGAIN and was told that since I had left an unfavourable tripadvisor review they would not be considering any compensation for us.I am certainly not the only person who has left an unfavourable review for this campsite and we cannot all be wrong. In that review I merely pointed out that with no mention that bbqs are not allowed on pitches and the lack of provision to hire gas bbqs or have bbqs in a communal area (which are marked on the site map but do not exist) was a major downer for us who rely on bbq-ing when camping. In addition there is no toilet roll in the sanitary blocks and we were given one roll between two people which we then had to take with us each trip.Despite the major inconvenience to everyone in the campsite due to the lack of hot water I did not once see or hear from the owners during our stay, everything was left to the reception staff who just shrugged their shoulders as if it wasn’t their problem. I should have known I would hear nothing after leaving, out of sight out of mind. Especially as we did not even receive replies to the emails we sent before our trip asking questions pertinent to our stay.Avoid this campsite at all costs, I wish I had read the reviews before going as well as the sarcastic & condescending replies that they receive. How they have achieved a 4* rating I will never know. Except for the location which is great. But go to Europa Camping which is right next door for same location and far better service - we had a wonderful stay there last August.

We have been staying at Camping Lac Annecy for many years. For us the campsite is perfect! Access direct to the cycle path and just a short ride to the beach. The pitches are large and the facilities are always very clean and well maintained. There are two pools, one for swimming and one with slides. The restaurant and bar is great and the entertainment is just right, there are things going on but it’s never all consuming or disturbing the peace. The owners and staff are always very friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. The location is the perfect base to explore all over Annecy and the Alps.

Despite other reviews we did not find road noise to be a problem. Nice swimming pools, good facilities, nice view of the hills and paragliders. Easy access to both Annecy and the lake although the site is not directly on the lake. We would definitely go back to this spectacular area and this site which is a good base to explore it from.
