Latest reviews for CAMPING CARAVANEIGE LE GIFFRE
Arrived here, Sunday 1st September. Was closed but, luckily, chap on duty rang someone and we were allowed in, find a pitch and see Reception in the morning.Great location. Parked in front of the lake next door. 10amp electric and could have had 16amp.The toilets/showers near to us were awful😡When I told Reception, in morning, how dirtythey were she just shrugged her shoulders and said the cleaner had left😲. The flowers around site were lovely, well looked after, shame they don’t look after showers etc. Will give 4⭐️s due to the location and the fact that we were given access on the Sunday BUT toilets and showers 1⭐️.
Camping on a fairly noisy campsite next to a main road and a bar/nightclub. We were located next to the bouncy castle / inflatables which was not ideal. Pitches were open and uneven - prone to flooding in heavy rain showers (can be frequent in Summer months). The site location means it can be very busy. There is a very good boulangerie nearby for bread and pain-au-raisin in the morning. Samoens shops and access to outdoor activities is all within walking distance. Toilets were relatively clean but expect queues if you don’t get up early in the morning.
Not a bad little site, not much on offer here though, boot room has got room for around 20 pairs of boots, no drying room for clothes or anything that gets wet, the shower blocks are spotless but the showers are barely warm... on days I went in a man came out a women 🤦♂️I hung my two damp towels on one of the radiators to dry and they were promptly taken down and placed in reception.. Great!!! There is a 15min walk into the centre of town and a 7min walk (Past a lovely patisserie) to the start of the gondola telecabin and bus stops for access to other routes around the network. Just on the edge of the site I a nice pop up" style bar with all sorts of house, pop music etc which can play late into the night and can be heard for miles do if suggest if you plan an early night take some ear plugs ..If not I'd highly recommend a visit ... overall view on the site is a good site for easy access to the slopes and a nice walk to the town.
We liked it. There are many advantages of this place including: walking distance to the gondola, short walk to a nice skiing shop / rental. You don't have to use ski bus everything is there. The campsite has also heated ski locker room. Apart from that there is a great bakery and pizza place. What else do you need? The town center is 20min walk.
Good campsite with good facilities. Kids loved the bouncy castle and cycling round the flat roads which were quiet. You get free access to the town outside pool which is nice with a slide and baby pool. Nice entertainment schedule - enough to get involved in but not at all manic. We saw a lovely little concert one evening. A great location next to lakes and cable car and short walk / cycle to town. You could order bread for morning (although we didn’t use this). Campsite had a nice, friendly atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.
