Latest reviews for CAMPING DU HAUT-RHÔNE
Located on the ViaRhona beside the Rhone River, this is a very pleasant place to camp. Cyclists will appreciate the shelter with electric outlets and wifi. Also shelters for bicycle parking. A supermarket is across the road.
Toilets could be better and the bar was very noisy by the quiz Tuesday evening
What a relief when I rolled into this friendly place at 8.30pm after 80km of ups and downs, blood, sweat and tears. There is a Carrefour and Pharmacy right opposite the camp site and a bakery that opens at 6am (!!) a few steps down the Rhone. The owners are friendly. There is a big fluffy pet with blue eyes for those who need dog therapy. The Internet at the restaurant is fast and the team hospitable. I spent hours sitting around working on my laptop, which wasn't a problem. Easy going folks. The campsite for velos is in the middle - a shady place with tired people all sharing stories. Perfect set up. There is a big tent and a wooden hut with plugs and microwave. If you need some privacy you can always use the toilet on the outside of the restaurant. You're welcome.Bonne route!
Cycle touring. Best campsite I have used. Helpful staff. Toilets bit old. Next to viaRhona. Near Carrefour. Lovely view. Tent sit ok, lots of shade - could do with flattening in places.
Toilets and showers and swimming pool were filthy, the best part of showering was when the light went off in the middle of my shower so I couldn't see the gunge lurking in the shower. Pitch was ok, Snack bar didn't appear to be open and we weren't made aware of any communal area for cyclists to charge items as others have mentioned. Suspect there must be some fake reviews as the site is anything but lovely, also the most expensive night of our trip, though I know the other campsite in Seyssel is also on the expensive side. It's a real shame as it is in nice spot by the Rhône.
