Pros: Perfect location. Foot of the Alps and 1km from the village. Washing machines and tumble dryers available. Showers and Toilets very clean Swimming pool with spectacular views. Very clean and friendly site.Cons: Cabins: Very close together so you can hear ever conversation. No comfortable seating. Camping and mobile home pitches infront of the balcony area.
This is a pleasant campsite, with some nice looking "chalets" (which in English would be described as static caravans). The pool is amazing and comes with great catering. I think it is more geared towards the mobile home experience than towards camping. I did not enjoy camping here, because I was planning on camping at La Berarde, which is high up, has almost no facilities and feels free and spacious even in high season. Sitting cheek by jowl with every other family, surrounded by cars and mobile homes where I can hear everyone else's conversation all the time is not really my idea of camping - but it's incredibly popular so I think I'm on my own! Maybe I wouldn't mind the crowded set-up so much if I wasn't paying 500 euros for a week.I also think they should reorganise the site to manage the noise issues from the road a bit better - there are chalets right up against the road side that my sister was staying in and they were horribly noisy.
I was highly disappointed and wouldn’t recommend anyone to go here on vacation. We (luckily) only stayed one night but the bathroom facilities were extremely dirty and in poor condition. The toilets in particular were rancid in my opinion. The swimming pool was also badly maintained and has a sad appearance. Far too expensive and doesn’t deserve the 5 stars.
The location is great and the staff were very friendly and helpful , the snack bar was very welcome after a long day and the food and drinks were tasty and reasonably priced. Our suggestion would be to upgrade the bathroom facilities as they are very dated although clean or lower the price €54 for 2 people is high compared to what we have paid elsewhere in Europe.
Camping la Piscene is an absolutely beautiful camp site. I stayed with a motorhome (wöhnmobil / caravane) and greatly enjoyed the privacy of the campsites separated by hedges. There is no noise here, only the sound of nature. For cyclists and skiiers, the site is directly at the base of the ascent to Alpe d'Huez!
