Latest reviews for CAMPING MUNICIPAL L'ÎLE DU CHÉRAN
Very cute and quite, by a lake (swimming not allowed though) BUT the toilets were a disgrace. Always dirty, flash not working in any of the wcs...
We stayed here for a week and loved it and are planning to spend 2 weeks here next summer. We chose to be is a particularly quiet corner of the site but there are other pitches near the lake, woods, sunny or shady. Quite a verity to suit all people. The staff where very patient with me mangling the French language and then happy to step into English when I failed (and I normally did). My wife (being English) did a lot better with here use of French as the English schooling included French and it makes quite a difference. We felt safe and welcome here (unlike other "posh" sites in France. In fact we found the hole area very welcoming and patient with us. I think this had now become our regular family summer holiday location.Lots of activities with in walking distance. Free lake, park. Discounts for trampoline, floom slide, cable water skiing and more. Also restaurants and bars. 1km away is a small village with bakery, cheese shop, butcher and a small supermarket. A food market comes to town once a week.If any criticism it to laid against the place the sanitary facility's are getting a little tired. But kept clean and perfectly adequate. We loved the place and can't wait to go back again.
Very nice campsite with a private lake and nice green pitches for tents. We had emplacement 122 which also had the best wifi we have ever had on a campsite. The only thing that could have been better was the availability of hot water in the shower.
Good camping with amazing lake (and 3!! Extra lakes closeby) really beautiful views as well.Prices are fair and places are very large. However the cons are that swimming is forbidden in the lake(but dont worry, no one really cares, but it does make it your own risk) and the lake is used for a water skieing school, wich makes you hear the cable system from 10 in the morning to 8 in the evening. The toilets are okay, but not the best. The showers cannot be set in temperature, so you have to get used to the temperature before you can stand under it. I have no experience with the entertainment team. For the price, large places and beautiful lake, but considering some downsides i give this camping a recommendation of 4 stars.
do not expect customer service, they just don't care. it's dirty, no maintenance, limited toilets, and at this moment full of dead little frogs :-) good they have a magnificent location
