Perfect quiet place for camping for several nights. Good facilities and also swimming pool is a bonus. Nice staff and relaxed atmosphere. It is good location for cycling routes up the mountains.
We stayed here, camping, 3 nights over the weekend at the beginning of June 2021. Since we first arrived, after a long and stressful afternoon, we felt a very warm welcome and at ease that we'd chosen a nice place to stay. It was very quiet over the weekend we were here (likely due to the COVID pandemic!). Arriving fairly late on a Friday eve I asked if we'd be able to come to the bar after we'd set up which I was assured would still be open... When we got there we asked about food and, though the kitchen was not technically open and the lady was working by herself, she was happy to arrange with me some simple food to feed us after a long day, which was greatly appreciated! We passed a lovely relaxing weekend, including enjoying the swimming pool with fantastic views around!Facilities were always clean and nice to use- the clothes drying line was also useful for us.Sunday I asked if the bar would be open in the evening and was told no because its very quiet on the weekends, and of course the staff need a rest too! However, a bit later they did decide to open after all, and ensured that we were aware of this.As we left we were waved off with such genuine smiles and good blessings. Really happy to have stayed here!!
Don't expect too much...It could be nice and cosy place, but need lots of work. After 19:00 dead place.Playground not interested for kids.Sweeming pool not too clean. It says BAR, but nothing open.We had cold water in the showers next to swimming pool. But the price is 26euro, so maybe we had to high expectations.
A wee bit out of town (15 minute walk), but well worth it. It is a campsite but also a gentle and welcoming community, many people actually live there and have built, or are in the process of building, their own chalets. At first it may seem a bit rough and higgledy-piggledy, but after speaking to any of the residents (for example at the wee bar next to the reception) a genuine warmth is extended which makes it all seem a little less daunting. Leave doors unlocked, valuables in the tent, and the bike unchained and appreciate that this is a trustworthy community. The whole place is well situated in that lots of trees provide ample shade while sun-worshipers will find sunny spots easily. The views of the surrounding mountains are epic. In town most amenities can be found, yet the toilet, self-catering and washing facilities on site are excellent and plentiful, despite often appearing ramshackle. The restaurant and swimming pools are only open from July to September, and the reception desk is oft vacant, yet there is a number posted on the door which can be called in case of late arrival or whatnot. The boss-lady is very friendly and accommodating. So when you find yourself in La Chambre, turn off the road by the market place, head up the hill, and find out for yourself.
A great camping - the way it should be eveywhere. Lovely athmosphere, friendly people, nice spacious spots, forrest, shadow, fresh pool, bar and the option of everyday bread in the morning. Toilets and shower are basic; warm (for free) and clean. Great location to conquer the great Cols around. Highly recommended without hesitation.
