Latest reviews for CAMPING DE SANTENAY
First the good points: Nice location and really close to the municipal swimming pool which we made use of. Beautiful area of France with lots of vineyards around. However… The site is very tired and the toilets and showers could do with updating. We were not warned there was no hot water and we were told it had been that way for two weeks before our arrival. We were also not offered any compensation for the fact there was no hot water.
We very much liked our stay! The camping staff was very welcoming and friendly. You get to pick your own camping spot, which is nice. We had a lovely view of the wine fields. We also chose the site because of the tennis court. This costs 5 euros, after picking up the key at a local wine store. Would be great if the camping also owned a key, just for convenience. Sanitary facilities were well maintained and clean. Would definitely recommend if you like scenic bike rides, wine tasting and some peace and quiet.
Nice campingsite, very friendly staff. A good alternative for when the camping municipal in Beaune is full (that is always aftrr 15.00 o' clock).Ameneties old but well cleaned and heated! In october the services ( shop, bread, restaurant) are closed, but there is a good restaurant in the casino just outside the camping.Beautiful surroundigs ans very good wine!!
Chose site for location to Beaune3 Star site and part of a chain so expected betterOld site in need of a lot of tidying up, need better identification for the pitches. All the time we were there the showers were cold.Had to pay for Internet, which unless you were almost under the repeater aerials the Internet was always dropping out
OKish campsite close to the A6, at a good location for a stopover towards the south. We had one of the few pitches which had both electricity as well as a good view on the hills with the beautiful vineyards. However, there's not a lot of shade on the pitches with a view. There's a few good hikes into the hills directly from the campsite. We hiked up the 'trois croix' hill through the vineyards, which was very nice.Good sized supermarket is available at approximately 10mins by car. Baker comes into the campsite on all days except Wednesday.I'd give this campsite 4 stars, if not for the horribly dated sanitary. No toilet seats, nor is there a place to hang the TP you brought yourself, nor is there any soap available. Maybe to be expected, but it is the only thing I thoroughly dislike about camping in France.Mobile reception is intermittent at best. There's wifi available at extortionate prices. To conclude: ok for a short stop when driving down south, but wouldn't recommend.
