CAMPING DE SAULIEU

Super camping!We had a very nice time at camping de Sauliue.From the camping there are several bike and walking routes trough Sauliue and it's nature-rich vicinity. The camping staff is very friendly and helpfull, they even picked up the phone when we called in late to ask if they still had a last moment spot for us!Sauliue is a nice Village, about 5minutes by foot.There are some very nice restaurants like Le 1930 with great food, cheese and wine from the region.It is very possible to stay at this camping for 4-5 days and still there are plenty of things to do if you are an outdoor / nature liking person.The pool is also nice to cool down during the summer period.

Nice quiet campsite with good size pitches and a pool (solar heated so cold). Bread onsite. Tiny shop for basics. Lovely lake on site and at leadt 3 petites randonnées close by. Resident hedgehogs too! Downside was that the showers temp is inconsistent but once you learn the trick of keeping the button pressed down they're fine.

We stayed at the campsite both on the way further south and the return journey. It is a great location and easy to find from the motorway via good roads. We found it a lovely campsite, with large pitches with both water and electric close by. The staff were really friendly with English spoken. There is good laundry facilities and lots of activities/swimming pool to keep children amused. As mentioned shower cubicles are small but perfectly adequate with lots of clothes hanging hooks and shelfs - they were always clean. We will definitely use this campsite again as base to explore the area further.

Camping Saulieu is a spacious campsite, with large places, lots of trees (nice during a heat wave in summer) and in walking distance of the city centre (~2km). At the start of our stay the campsite was not fully booked, but when it became more crowded, the cleaning of the toilettes and showers, the availability of toilet paper etc. did not suffice, unfortunately. However, the water taps around the campsite, the (small) swimming pool, the spacious places make this a nice location.

We loved staying at Camping de Saulieu. The staff were very warm and welcoming. They all spoke English very well, which was great because we know very little French. The tent pitches are very well shaded. The bathrooms were very clean and the showers had warm water. The swimming pool was also very nice and clean. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to the Burgundy area.
