Latest reviews for CAMPING LAC DE PANTHIER
The campsite was under total construction, noise pollution (drilling) 8am to 10pm, full of mud and dirt. Our house (specific for families with children) was in front of a road with buldozers and trucks driving around. I give 2 stars because they change it for another one without much trouble. However, the door of the house they gave us could not be locked. We called the emergency number (reception was closed) and nobody answered or replied to us.Total feeling of chaos, impossible to relax there.
Should not be called ‘camping’ as they now do not allow any tent camping - was sent away after a long day cycling. Looked like a lovely site - shame they could not leave a patch of grass free for tents.
What a disappointment. A beautiful area and setting. The campsite let it down. Nearly all camping pitches have bern replaced with wooden chalets since our visit last year and those left only a few were grassy the rest mud baths, when the rain came which it certainly did it turned into a muddy mess with people having to find pallets to put on their pitch in front of tents or help themselves to the huge pile of road chippings so that cars wouldn’t get stuck, The site has been taken over since our last visit and not in a good way. The site is almost split into two due to the shape of it, pool end there is now only one very poor set of washrooms and toilets. Toilets broken, flushes don’t work, some missing seats and are very old, not even a hand washing area in the toilet section. The toilets were dirty , only saw staff hosing them out not actually cleaning them. No where near enough toilets for the amount of pitches, especially as these were the only ones for guests in the pool too. The closed block which was actually the better block last year was closed. This was not even closed with a notice explaining what works were going on but a graffiti spray paint style scrawl over it. Lots of the pitches had building materials on, it felt like you were camping on a building site. The work in the wooden chalets that have taken over was not even good. Activities were not added to this side of the site ad previously, you had to go round to the other site to find out what was going on. Our pitch had 3 big piles of garden rubbish on it including hedge trimmings and grass cuttings that had obv been there for some time. Our dogs did sniff out mice in the pile so we asked at the office for it to be removed. We were told someone would be down straight away. 1 week later a man arrived and agreed it was not good, he would get his new helper that was starting the next day to bring the digger and clear it, 3 weeks later still no sign of anyone even though we mentioned it to other staff on site. The only almost good side is that they have re done the swimming pool. They have increased the size and made better flooring around the pools. Shame that the walls that were already there and incorporated into the design were not painted or cleaned. The steps leading to the flume were green! There are signs with rules, two lifeguards and no one abided by these rules or were spoken too. One rule was no balls, seems silly but when it was very hot and everyone was in the pools there wasn’t much room yet you had kids and parents throwing balls one end of the pool to the other to each other and even one pool to the other, constantly hitting people lifeguards said nothing! Another rule was no smoking or E cigarettes, again. Not a word was said! All in all what could be an amazing site is now very messy, tired and unkept, very disappointing as not cheap. If camping I would say don’t bother, head on down the road 20 mins to Arnay Le Duc, lovely little site with pool and a lake also, wish we had found it sooner!
Amazing location but facilities very tired in all other ways - no hot water for showers or washing up, rarely toilet paper, electrics 6A and often trip site wide, outdoor pool area tired and decking loose, terrible music very loud and very late, reception closed at prime arrival time (12.30-2pm). Nice restaurant unless you don’t like mussels, then it’s only pizza 🤷🏼♂️The lake is great though with a really good water sports rental shop and amazing views. Lovely nearby villages with chateaus and supermarkets. Small country roads on all approaches but not busy.
Horrible Place. Overpriced. Paid 20 euros to sleep in a tent in a building site. Drunk people were making a racket all night and it turns out it’s the staff and were unsurprisingly rude when I complained about it. Filthy showers. Avoid at all costs.
