CAMPING DE BESANÇON

It should be lovely but some things let it down.Main issue is a lot of noise. If noise is your thing then this is the place for you. Be it from the road, till 1am from the local bar/restaurant on Saturday night. Or the fact that they will allow 5+ teenagers on one pitch unsupervised who then all talk and play football loudly till the early hours.If you're lucky enough to get a pitch next to the swimming pool fence then you also have to put up with people kicking balls against it. Smoking cigarettes and drugs whilst hiding from the pool security and playing loud music.The toilets and showers are clean but on Saturday and Sunday there was no soap even after cleaning. Toilet paper runs out quickly as there are only 2 non disabled toilets for every man onsite!Also note. The river is inaccessible and bathing is not permitted.

Late August, with caravan, 2 nights. Nice site. Facilities are clean and well serviced. Showers can be cold. Lovely pool. Will return if in the area again.

Nice, small, quiet and clean campsite, great place for trips to the surrounding area. Located on the cycling route that runs from the north of France to the south. There is a nice swimming pool next to the campsite.

Finding the camp site is really easy and the whole staff is very friendly. You get a plan of the campsite and detailed descriptions about the local supermarkets and all the other stuff you need. Plus, you can buy nice postcards and eventually even have the chance on a nice chat with the reception lady. When I visited in June 2018, the summer was so dry that there was hardly any grass left but I'm sure that it's different if there is enough rain. The atmosphere is nice and you even have seating possibilities.

Great place for an overnight stay.. We used the site for an overnight stop over on the way from Dunkirk to St Gervais Les Bain in the French alps. We arrived about 7pm and were promptly allocated a pitch. The shower block and toilets were in good and clean condition. We left quite early the next morning. I would recommend the site and use it again if I were in the area.
