Latest reviews for CAMPING DU PONT DE BOURGOGNE
The best camping I've had in a week's worth of bike packing! Very conveniently located on the EV6 and just 10mins ride to the city centre or Decathlon/Lidl. The facilities are kept clean and toilet paper is provided which isn't the case in many other campsites! The atmosphere is lovely, enough space for everyone to have a small corner to themselves, lots of tree shade also! The service is great, lovely smiling welcome, and the bar was very very welcome after a day of cycling with many cold drinks on offer.
Reception friendlyNice area at reception to use the internet and buy dinner, we had some chips.Internet didn't work on ipad or Android (hint to owners turn it off and on to reboot it)We are cycling and in a tent, and the unpowered tent area is at the very back of the park. No seats, not much cover, and a huge walk to toilets, showers, and reception area. I saw unused wooden tables and seats around where the vans were parked, and i wished they were in our area. They would be well used in the cyclist area!!!Also, there was one covered area, but some cyclists set up camp under it, so there wasn't room to go there to get out of the rain. They could do a lot better before cycle tourists. We spend money on food and drinks because we can't carry everything like to vans do.
One word Fabulous. A short walk into town. A bar/ restaurant onsite wonderful food. Clean facilities. Lovely hosts. Easy check-in process. We actually ended up drinking in the bar and buying some local wine that we sampled as it was yummie. My husband ended up ordering beef bourgeon from the restaurant. Food was excellent. Free strong Wifi. When we arrived it was pouring rain but we were welcomed nevertheless. It's a shame that just opposite same location is a camping car park booking site competitor where residents there believe they can use these facilities at this site and not pay for that privilege. So people leaving reviews for camping car park aren't true. As I've read them all. At camping car park there is only electric hookup but nothing else. I'm really sorry that these wonderful people hosting this site have to be subjective to conversation of this nature daily. It's great to see some convert to new sales. My opinion you should only have services that you have paid for. And enjoy that. Don't expect facilities for free. We bought they local Saint Marcel wine a red Pinot noir and rose. So yummie. We hope to return soon.
An excellent, family run site, ideally situated just outside Chalon sur Saone. It is about a 20-minute walk into the town. The service is exceptional, the shower block is very good and the pitches are a good size too.
Very nice camping. Warm welcome at the reception. Well maintained spots. Beautiful surroundings. A lot of value for such a low price.
