Latest reviews for CAMPING AU BOCAGE DU LAC
A great location but a very poorly managed campsite. We had a great week. And that's really the main point. I would recommend going to the area to friends. But I would be very honest about it. The great time is the location; not the campsite. The location is right on the bank of a beautiful lake where you can run, hire bikes, paddleboard, fish and walk. The local village is charming with great places to eat.The campsite though. It feels like it was great once and I suspect the high score here in Google is coming from what it was under previous management. There is no indoor pool; it has been closed. The outdoor pool is poorly maintained with dirty changing rooms. The snack bar has been closed. The security gate into the pool often breaks allowing young kids direct access to the lake. Reception closes for hours each afternoon. The onsite bar / restaurant is very poorly run (you'll be waiting quite a while to get served if you can at all). The entertainment at night is really poor (e.g. a Kahoot quiz on screen).A few locals we spoke with said that, after a change of ownership, the new managers are looking for every way possible to cut costs... And it really does feel that way.
Recently stay here having stayed before. It's under new owners and it is clearly understaffed and allot of facilities are not open or poorly maintained. It's a great location and region with outdoor pool ( the indoor has been closed for a year apparently) great slides but sadly parts of the site are dirty and is not worth the money they looking for anymore. Very little supervision at pool and on site. Had great memories of the last time but sadly allots changed.
We absolutely loved our stay here, thank you so much to all the staff and to other campers! We booked into a typical lux mega campsite for one week and needed a cheaper second week, and this was it. I was so nervous arriving because of all the negative reviews this year but honestly I don't understand them. The location is fantastic, lovely nature walk by the lake and walking distance to a pretty authentic town with culture. The site has a brilliant atmosphere, mostly tents and caravans and priority for pedestrians, not cars. It feels like old fashioned camping even when you're in a mobile home like us!Slides were the most exciting of any campsite I've been to, really good value for money. The basketball court and kayaking in the park beside the camp site were as convenient as if they were on site. For us (couple and 13 year old) this was the magic combination between authentic rural camping and good fun. Excellent value for anyone on a budget.
The best pool of the 3 campsites we visited during our holidays, water temperature was perfect and meant the pool and slides could still be enjoyed even on a rainy day.Pitch size excellent, nice restaurant although very quiet - I wonder if a early evening mini disco and a happy hour would fill the place and make a lot of extra money.Toilets and showers fine, though often no toilet paper available - wondered if kids were doing this on purpose.Overall I will definitely recommend to others and for sure consider returning, especially when the indoor pool is open.
Very nice camping. Great location with nice pitches at the lake, kids loved the water slides, and the town is at walking distance with a good bakery and supermarket. Also some nice trails to run around the lakes and water.Could be 5 stars but1. the inside pool was closed all year and apparently it was stated on the site. I looked but was very hidden below a sub page.2. Also there's no WiFi at all at the camping. Could be fine if you choose it like that but it should always be a choice and not a surprise.3. The animation is only in french and very little English and no dutch at all. Too difficult for the kids
