CAMPING LES HORTENSIAS

Be very wary if you intend staying here with a touring caravan. We camped here with a relatively small van (6 metres) in late August 2022 and were allocated a pitch squashed in between the walkway to the toilet block and self catering bungalows. It wasn't a suitable pitch and wasn't helped by the fact that any difficult manœuvre we had to make in our car found us glared at by the occupants of one of the bungalows. Our arrival couldn't have been less cordial because as is fairly typical of France everything shuts for lunch, so don't arrive between 12 and 2 or you will incur the wrath of 'La direction'. There are some very tight turns for a caravan so take care. This was due to be an extended break of 7 nights but we left after 3 nights.This is a tired site which felt grubby and everything feels over-used. The toilet block is mixed (standard) but is pretty smelly and we had an infestation of ants in the van. The facilities are much smaller than they appear in images and families with children would find everything very cramped. The location is not idyllic - on approach you might feel you are on a concrete housing estate. The beach is not great.Look further it isn't difficult to do much better than this site.

Lights in the toilet/shower building go out after 2 min 😡Very annoying!!!

Excellent camping next to a beautiful beach, not too crowded and very well managed

We had the pleasure of spending a weekend at Les Hortensias campsite. A family campsite, quiet, very well maintained, clean, flowery and ideally located. The swimming pool and children's games are very good. The welcome is friendly, the managers are attentive and attentive. Thank you again for your kindness. We recommend 100% and will happily come back.
