Latest reviews for CAMPING SANDAYA LES DEUX FONTAINES
We had a wonderful time at this lovely campsite, the staff are fantastic and so friendly. The pools and slides are great fun, our kids loved them. All facilities and grounds are clean, tidy and well maintained, and it is clear the staff take pride in what they do. Our mobile home was exactly as advertised and really well kitted out. The campsite is a 10 minute stroll from a fabulous white sandy beach with clear water, and a stunning coastal walking path that follows a beautiful rugged coastline with dozens of small sandy beaches. There is loads to see and do locally, Concarneau in particular is well worth a visit.I highly recommend this pleasant campsite and its wonderful staff. My only disclaimer is that we went in the last two weeks of June when it was very quiet. I imagine it could be a different experience if it gets very busy during high season.
This was our second stay at Les Deux Fontaines. We stayed the first time in 2020, and had an amazing holiday. The site in 2020 was small and calm, with beautiful pitches and great facilities. We decided to return this year as our first choice of campsite (port manache) was fully booked. We were a little reticent about booking again as we noticed that the site had increased significantly in size. We were correct to be concerned. We were located in the newer section, and whilst our cabin was comfortable and clean, the extra holiday makers resulted in a very busy and congested campsite. The pool area was heaving when we tried to swim, consequently we only managed to swim twice. There was visible dirt and clumps of hair in the pool and the surrounding areas. It certainly no longer had a 5 star feel. The children decided after the second swim that it was so dirty they would rather spend time on the beach instead. It does feel that the site is now too big for the facilities available. As an example, we arrived at 4pm expecting to be able to access our cabin, only to be told that it wouldn’t be ready and the staff had no idea when it would be. It could be an hour, two or even longer. When questioned why this was, the staff explained that this was due to the amount of turnovers that the cleaning staff had to complete. Whilst I recognise that it was a busy time of the year, this should be managed by ensuring that there is enough staff to complete the turnovers in a timely fashion. Or, reduce the number of bookings, to ensure that the holiday makers get the service they have paid for. We waited for 1.5 hours before our cabin was ready and were offered a complementary drink at the bar, but after a long day travelling this is still unacceptable. Finally, I have to agree with all the other reviews about the smell of the large container in the new section. Although we were situated a fair distance from this, we noticed a very unpleasant smell when walking past it, and occasionally it wafted to our cabin. This tank is emptied several times a day by a noisy lorry pumping it out. Not exactly relaxing or enjoyable to listen to.There are some positives to this site:The staff were never rude and tried to help whenever possible. The coastline and surrounding areas are beautiful and if you wish to spend time walking and biking, and very little time at the site, this is a good choice. Our cabin was clean, new and although the plants could do with maturing, we certainly felt that the area around our cabin was pretty.
Great location and in general nice park. New part has some work to do however. Our cottage friends suffered from sewage problems including backflow of showerwater and a sewage smell. Also (was not a surprise but still): for such prices wifi should be included nowadays, or at least one (lower) price for more then one device rather then separate buyings per device. Now with 5 people this was 75 euro for one week which is bizar in this era if cheap internet data.
Over-rated and under-resourced site, and well overpriced. Will not be coming back ever. Our location absolutely smelt of sewage every day, more so at night when we wanted to sit outside as a family group, so we had to say in our cabins. We only had two loungers to tw0 cabins that could sleep 10 persons tye outside area needed a lot of work to make it worthwhile and that smell need to be sorted awaits definitely local pipes that are leaking or pit that's open. The facilities are good for a site about a third of its size. The bar and entertainment areas need up grading, as do the food selling areas, but they prices for food shopping and drinks are what you would expect to pay in a high t standard hotel not a camp side bar a 400ml of 1664 larger was 7.60 euros not even a pint a G&T cost 9.60 euros. The shop charged 1.5 euro forca .50 baguettes and 4 euro for 200g of Butter. Everything is well overpriced there.
Spent 10 days with grandkids aged 15 and 9,plenty to do,lovely walks ,amazing beach nearby, campsite was full but very well managed, kids didn't join clubs, they enjoyed the swimming pools, football field, free pool table and evening entertainment,we had a 90 mt pitch for our caravan inc water and electric, reception girls spoke English although we learnt a bit of french by the time we left, small shop onsite with daily fresh bread, also a takeaway for fast food, intermarche supermarket in nevez,8 min drive or 40 min walk, we'll be back
