We had a very pleasant 6 nights here. Although here's some feedback, 3 toilets and 3 showers for 60 pitches isn't quite enough. Some pitches are quite compact and odd shaped, might be a struggle to fit your setup on if you're long/wide. One day of the week the swimming pool closed for technical reasons. Annoying. There seems to be something on everyday, but aimed at older kids/adults. The restaurant does pizzas in the evening, but that's it, if you don't like pizzas or want gluten free, don't bother! A food truck comes once a week (Monday, but we didn't know so missed it) There's cycle hire, but nowhere really traffic free locally to venture once you leave the campsite. Odd. You seem to have to wander over other people's pitches to collect water. After rain some people had issues with hook-up not being available. Toilets will invariably run out of paper. But all in all it was quite peaceful under the trees.
A really nice site with a nice big covered pool (& Un-heated outside toddler pools for when the kids have been bad)Some lovely villages nearby with some great markets.Good location for Mont St Michel but if you can, take bikes to get from the car parks (€17) to the Mount itself and avoid having to queue for a bus or walk. Also some great activities (land yachting), good cycle paths and awesome seafood nearby on the coast. The site itself has all the usual Huttopia amenities and some nice activities for all ages.
The location of this campsite is great, lots of things to do in the area. We have stayed at a lot of Huttopia campsites and I have to say this was not as up to standard as others we have stayed at. First they wanted to give us a spot number 5 with no sun and no grass along the road. I had booked in December, their system automatically books from 1 upwards, I asked them to find another spot for us and after some negotiations they did give is another, which was on a slope and difficult to pitch our trailer tent. The sanitair was awful, incredibly dirty! It wasn't cleaned properly the 7 nights that we stayed there. There was slime buildup in the showers, dirty tampon wrappers on the floor, urine and feces on the toilets, revolting. I mentioned it three times to the staff but nothing was done. They mentioned that they were disappointed themselves, but they still didn't clean it. The campsite itself is very pretty and has a lot of potential, but the management really need to improve the cleanliness.
Nice looking campsite, slightly remote, but very quiet. We were on a touring pitch, very tight with trees, very muddy and very shady, which made it very difficult to set up/navigate on and off and becuase of the mud and shade, a lot of gnats. The bar/cafe area was very nice, but limited selection of food and the swimming pool area very limited.MY wife and I have stayed at a Huttopia before but would not receommend this one for adults
We had a mixed feeling about this stay, especially in comparison to our experience with the other Huttopia place in France we stayed.Points to consider:•There is a pool which is in kind of in a glass house. This in convenient since the weather can be cold and rainy in Bretagne sometimes. However, this glass house makes the pool area an acoustic nightmare when 20-30 kids are playing and screaming inside! The outside pool is very small, not deep and cold.•On that note: At least during our stay the pool had technical difficulties and was closed for 3 days out of 2 weeks. A warm and well visible shower inside the pool area should be considered, s.t. more people shower before going inside the pool. There is a freezing cold shower at the entrance and a sign that says, “Show mandatory”, but observing it for some time, one quickly can see that the people either do not care or do not see the shower.•The public toilets where not very clean. I was happy to stay in a mobile home with a private WC, but I feel sorry for the people in tents that had to use it.•The staff is mostly friendly but has a little bit of “we do not care” attitude. Examples: The pool was close again for maintenance, when asked about the reason and how long it will last the answer was mainly: “Maybe this and that reason and we do not know whatsoever, just come back later”. Other example was an issue we had with our mobile home. Apparently, the foundation of our mobile home has settled, causing the wooden structure to warp, which in turn has prevented the door from opening (need two people to do it). Although we mentioned it several times and I belief it is a security risk, e.g. in case of the fire, there was not particular interest in taking actions against it.•Restaurant: The restaurant is ok’ish: They mainly serve Pizza and sweet Crepes. Once a week a food truck stops by. During our stay this was very tasty, although portions were rather small.•There is nothing you can reach by foot outside the camping and no public transportation.•Guests are mainly Dutch and British, at least during our stay, making it difficult for our kids to communicate, but I don’t want to blame this on the camping of course 😉
