Latest reviews for CAMPING LE MOULIN FORT
We stayed here just for one night in our campervan on our way up North from the South. We would definitely stay again. Large shady pitches, facilities were clean and good quality. The restaurant was superb, we had a great meal. Highly recommend.
Large pitches and very close to Chenonceau Chateau which is well worth a visit. Very impressive. The site itself is fine. bar service at this site is sadly lacking. I know this isn’t a deal breaker but a hostile reception is not what you expect when you come for a drink at the bar looking to socialise with other campers. However, it would appear that priority is given to local visitors. Admittedly, it was a Friday night, but not all tables were full of diners. When my wife asked for a white wine, it was poured from a plastic jug under the counter and I got a short measure and short shrift for some reason. We sat at a table that was not set for dining but the barman chased us away and told us to sit somewhere else. What a shame. We will not revisit. Not what you expect on holiday or otherwise. 😞
Lovely site by the river. Great restaurant. Lovely clean facilities. Pleasant and helpful staff. So charming. Really close to Chenonceau. Peaceful and relaxing site.
Just completed a five night stay at the Camping Le Moulin Fort in our large family tent - had a lovely time and could have stayed longer! The pitches are flat and good to pitch on. The road layout works well be it for cars/campers/motorhomes.This is quite a peaceful campsite in terms of the campers- although there is a local train line close by, and in prime weather 12 or so hot air balloons come overhead at 6am and 8pm. The crickets make a fabulous noise in the evening! The facilities are clean - showers and toilets plentiful. We had no hot water temporarily on the busiest night when many washing facilities were in use - had plenty of hot water at all other times. Free fridge and freezer and microwave available, good washing up facilities. The laundry area is also well equipped with hot water basins, 2 washing machines and 2 tumble dryers. The swimming pools are clean and big enough for the campsite - loungers available too.We ate at the restaurant once - during busy times it’s worth reserving a table. It was freshly cooked and good value. Not sure what the previous review is on about ref bar service - this is a family run campsite where the owners do everything. We found them welcoming and friendly - even when it was really busy due to the Euros being on.The staff can order bread/pastries daily as well as organise a fishing permit. The location is fab - next to the River Cher, with access to the riverside from the campsite. Canoeing available on the other side of the bridge. Chateau de Chenonceau is walkable - cross over the bridge to walk in on the other side of the river (30mins) due to where you pay to enter the castle. you can walk through the castle and come home on the same side as the campsite (15min walk).
Wonderful location close to the castle of Chenonceaux, big pitches, and nice facilities. Did struggle to get hot water in 2 seperate showers. Also be prepared for a lot of air traffic in the form of hot air balloons and small planes!
