Latest reviews for CAMPING LA GRANDE TORTUE
We were biking by La Loire and booked a bivouac (picture) to rest here. We were pleasantly surprised to find plugs to charge our phones inside the bivouac; but also the fact they offer WiFi service, as we had poor reception in that area. The pools were opened until 21h and from 20h there was a live music performance, which we could enjoy from the restaurant. Clean toilets, friendly staff, silent camp after 22h, and fresh croissants in morning ! A lovely place to relax…
Great campsite near to cycle tracks. Very clean modern wash facilities. Excellent play area for children. Fabulous little restaurant down in the village.
We enjoyed our week at La Grande Tortue. Visited nice places as Amboise, Blois and Chateau de Chambord. Campsite has a lot to offer to kids and has spacious places. Personnel was friendly, besides one case, explained below. One important remark from our side. They campsite is maintained very well, but at a certain moment, they were spraying poison against weeds, even at the playground where the little ones were playing. This particular moment was a bit shocking, and when confronting the gardener, he just ignored us and did not react.
Lovely campsite and wonderful restaurant, with excellent food and cocktails. The atmosphere is a perfect mix of holiday chill-out during the daytime, trees and a large pool area, along with live entertainment next to the restaurant most nights. My favourite meal is the beef, and a glass of rose wine. Have eaten here for lunches and dinners lots of times when we stay at the campsite; always excellent!Highly recommend both the campsite and restaurant, year after year.
Nice good sized pitch for camping, shaded by trees, electric and water between four pitches.Small but nice restaurant on site with small shop for essentials. Pre order bread the day before.Outdoor and indoor pools and lots of activities for kids. Two new toilet/shower etc blocks which are excellent, one old one which is adequate but slightly dangerous if you don’t notice the step up into the cubicle (I didn’t and had a nasty fall!) No wet floor signs either after cleaning which may have helped prevent my fall.
