Latest reviews for CAMPING CAMPO DI LICCIA
We have stayed with a tent for a week. The places are very well separated and there are many trees which provides enough shadow. The toilets and showers are cleaned each morning (too bad that many tourists are not respecting the common area). In the night (last two nights) there was a karaoke “show” which was very annoying and kept going until 12:00 AM, even if the silence hour has started at 11PM. Overall it was a pleasant stay.
We arrived at the gate and had to wait til the reception opened at 16:00 (fair enough). There was only one camper at the campsite and lots of space. We were not given access with the camper and first had to walk to the camper park to select our preferred place and come back for checking in. We were informed that the wifi was free but it was not working due to a thunderstorm yesterday (it had only been blue sky for the past week). Fed up with micromanaging style and incorrect information, we decided to find a better place elsewhere; and we did!
Campo Di Liccia is very easy to find, right by the main road a few kms to the north of Bonifacio. Sadly there is now where that is easy to cycle or walk to so if you stay here you need to drive everywhere. The site is quite large and sprawling with many large, mature trees that provide much needed shade. For those in vans, cars and tents, there is a large amenities block with toilets, showers, wash basins, sinks for washing clothes and those for washing dishes and there are also some washing machines.Everything works well and is completely hosed down every morning. Toilet paper is in a dispenser on the wall. Those camping in tents and cars have a large area under olive trees, campervans have pitches with small hedges. Electrical hook up may be hidden in the shrubs. There are also shalets and cabins for rental.Reception is open in the morning and again later in the afternoon. The people are friendly and helpful - we arrived quite late and they left everything to allow us to gain entry and find our pitch in an envelope on the reception door. Next to this is a small shop that sells freshly baked bread (no need to pre-order) and other essentials. There is a bar and a restaurant opposite and these are open in the late afternoon and evening. The restaurant has a good pizza oven and offers a nice selection of pizzas and salads. The bar is well stocked, kept clean and Geoffrey, the bar man,is nice, lovely to talk to and knows the local area very well. The Di Liccia pizza is particularly good. The site has an excellent, large swimming pool with a big terrace with sunloungers. This could be very busy in high season as it's not possible to walk to any local beaches.Just outside the gates to the site (access by key card only) is a large shop offering fruit and vegetables along with other items. The site is well located for an overnight before catching the ferry, good for a longer stay if you don't mind staying on site or driving to explore the area. Other sites are better placed if you want to cycle or walk to beaches.
I´ve been here for two nights with a roof tent, great service, multilingual speakers and good location. Ideal camping to stay when visiting Bonifacio, the distance is less than 5km. The WC and showers are quite modern and in a good condition. Pricing in the after season was excellent for a car with roof tent.
A noisy campsite with loud animation right next to the campsite area which continues until 23:30. During the night you hear the traffic from the road and the block of rental fridges. In case you are looking for some peace and quiet during your camp holiday, please look further. This place seems to target more on mobile home tourism.
