CAMPING MERENDELLA

It was a great stay! Just wanted to share how amazing our time at Merendella was! We had an absolute blast! The mobile home was top-notch, the entertainment program was a blast, and everyone at the camp was incredibly welcoming, helpful, and full of positive energy.

We were there from May 27 to June 2. We got a beautifully situated place for our camper, but the grass and weeds were not mowed... The beach bar was supposed to be open from June 1st. They opened it, but not completely, renovation was still going on... I think that if the campsite is open, everything should be open. Certainly, if you rent a place, it should be prepared properly

We had booked in February and paid in advance for a 2 week stay in late July and early August for one of the chalet muntagna. We never thought we would have such a bad experience. The mobile home, smaller than what seemed from the pictures on the website, was infested with giant ants. Not the normal quantity of ants in a camping but a huge number that would climb on your body and go everywhere in the kitchen and on the walls. We found the manager of the camping to be extremely rude and verbally aggressive: admitting at the same time that disinfestation would make it unsafe to live in the chalet but also refusing to find us an alternative solution. He even blamed us for demanding him to come and see for himself the situation. When we mentioned we could resort to the police, he screamed to us that we should "get the f.. out of here" ("cassez vous") and not mention the police. We found ourselves, including our 10 year old, with no accommodation at 8pm and we only received our money back after 2 months and lots of nudging. Finally, we suggest visiting in person before booking because we also found the camping facilities to be different from pictures on the website.

Very nice place to spend holiday. However there's few bad points too.Cons:-Many shower cabins have broken door locks so they're unusable.-Toilets were clean however there were constant shortages of toilet paper and soap to wash hands.-Not sure about toilet seats wether is a standard on French campsites but they were missing too.-Swimming pool was very busy and it's definitely too small for this amount of people.Same about toboggans/waterslides.-There was no concrete football pitch, just sort of cage on the beach. Where playing without shoes was painful due to wood sticks and needles from trees stuck in sand.- Very small playground for kids with broken climb wall.Pros:- Beautiful beach including crystal clear water.- Neighbour restaurant "U Catagnu" with great pizza (also available as takeaway) and best service ever!- Presence of waterslides on campsite- Very kind and helpful campsite staff, especially in reception.- Cultural/Topic evenings in the seaside restaurant- Very quiet place for most of daytime.- No loud music around campsite after 23.00- Shaded pitchesOverall we've had a wonderful holidays and we would consider this campsite again for next holiday.EDIT:We've visited this campsite one more time 2 years after. And unfortunately, we've found it worse than expected.- Toilets were very dirty for most of the time- We've found human excrement under the shower ! Reported it to the receptionist on a Sunday and Monday afternoon they were still there ! Absolutely shocking and disgusting based on the fact that all other people including children's kept using it ! 🤢- Beach is just getting worst, lot of dirt on the sand, making very unpleasant experience.- Pool massively overcrowded. I know it's a high season and place is getting more popular but during day you can't literally move in it.Only two points actually improved:- added toilet seats- definitely more activities for a children's- Very nice animations for kids including foam party etc.

Lovely stay We had a great stay with our family. We loved the location, the facilities and entertainment. Our only issue was the reception staff were a little rude and didn't seem very happy to see us when we went to ask questions. I also think it would have been great to have some live music and more vegetarian options. Thanks
