Latest reviews for CAMPING SANDAYA PARIS MAISONS-LAFFITTE
AWFUL! AVOID! PLEASE READ FULL REVIEWI am writing on behalf of my family to express my deep dissatisfaction with our recent stay at Camping Sandaya Paris Maisons-Laffitte.I would like to bring to your attention several concerning issues we encountered. These are listed below and evidenced in the attached photos:1. The step onto the deck was poorly repaired and posed a significant safety hazard.2. There was rot underneath the entrance to the van, which was became a Trip hazard and posed a notable risk to safety. This resulted in the vinyl floor covering being tearing.3. The toilet was not properly fixed to the floor, causing it to be unstable and dangerous to use.4. The kitchen utensils and equipment were in a deplorable state, covered in black mold and remnants of food.5. The floor of the van was dirty and had clearly not been cleaned prior to our arrival.6. The bedsheets, which we had paid extra for, were stained and required immediate replacement.7. The duvets were soiled, adding to our discomfort.8. It was evident that there had been no quality assurance check by the management, as the overall condition of the van was inadequate.Upon raising these issues with the staff on the evening of our arrival, we were initially met with the response that it was "not possible" to address or rectify any of our concerns. This was extremely frustrating and disappointing. Further compounding our frustration, when we approached reception and requested to speak to the manager, we were met with dismissiveness, disorganization, and extreme rudeness. The staff exhibited a total lack of accountability and customer care. We were required to wait for two hours before being informed by a staff member that there was no manager present. To our astonishment, this same staff member turned out to be the manager the following morning. In summary, our holiday has been ruined through the substandard accommodation and service we received.
We visited for May half term. It was a 2.5/3hr drive from Calais to the site. The staff were very helpful and brought a good energy to the place. We camped and the rates were very reasonable for decent sized pitches surrounded by bushes and trees. There are lots of very well designed and maintained toilet/shower blocks which were well heated and lit. The swimming pool and water jets are fantastic. It's very clean and a pleasant space to spend an afternoon in the sun. The site is perfectly set up for children. The centre of the town is a short 10/15 minute walk up the hill where you'll find the most lovely main shopping street filled with gastronomic delights. A perfect place for breakfast or lunch. The site is 30 mins by train away from central Paris with trains running every 15 minutes. We will be visiting again 🙂
Had a great stay of 3 nights at Sandaya. There were some issues with the room but they were solved quite fast by the people working there. Friendly receptionists and overall a very nice experience. 👌
I’ll start with the positive. This site has one and only thing going for it in my view, its location to Paris. After that it’s all downhill. There is a rather run down feeling to the whole site with poorly maintained pitches with visible rubbish and unkept grass and even a smell of urine on my pitch. The building all have peeling paint and tired look. The toilet blocks are the WORST on any site I’ve been to anywhere. Clear smell of urine in them both men’s and women’s. Floors flooded. No soap in dispensers. No sinks outside the closed door ones to simply wash your hands. The smell is a theme repeated in reviews but clearly Sandaya can’t be bothered to fix. Then dishwashing area is large but the taps are infuriating as the water doesn’t even run on for half a second which is just stupid. Frankly.Touching briefly on the restaurant which I’ll review seperatky it’s rubbish and they’ve casually just killed the kids menu and only have expensive options which are poor value. The play area is pathetic with one pile of rubbish where something once existed. The bouncy castle is a lottery when they bother to turn it on.It’s not a good site.
A really good site, well placed for a visit to Paris. The shop is excellent and the pitches are a good size.During the day, there is intermittent noise from the nearby RER train line and cargo barges passing on the Seine. On our many previous visits we have never considered this to be a problem. This time (June 2024) there was a very noisy musical entertainment event on the site on Saturday night. There was no indication of this on the website or when booking. There is a sign at the entrance to the campsite saying that quiet time is between 10pm and 7am but the noise from this event was almost unbearable until well after 11pm, even though our pitch was some distance away.It would be helpful if events such as these could be listed on the website so that visitors can look forward to them or book other dates or sites.Overall, we like the site very much, and we will be back – but perhaps not on a Saturday, just in case.....................................................Edit: 21st JuneThank you for your response. At present, customers can see details of the site and book without ever using the app you mention - as we did - so I am pleased that you will take steps to 'warn' - your word! potential customers of such events more clearly in the future. The campsite is currently categorised as 'Chill' on the website:'Nestled in an exceptional natural setting, they invite you to discover and explore the surrounding area with both family and lovers. On site, essential services will ensure you have a 100% peaceful vacation. The Sandaya CHILL camping adventure is local, authentic and real!'We like the site and we will visit again :)
