We stayed here overnight in our campervan. The welcome was tepid, the receptionist couldn't find our reservation and seemed more interested in getting back to his game of petanque. We were not put on the main site but in a designated camper area which was basically a large carpark with a few patches of grass. The toilets and showers were OK, clean but in need of some tlc. There didn't appear to be a snack bar or bar, which the website says is there , and the whole site was really run down. The location is good, we cycled up to the Normandy Memorial, and just across the road was a great spot to walk the dog. OK, but we didn't feel particularly welcome and we wouldn't rush back.
We booked a grass pitch for our touring caravan and awning. The site was easy to find, and all approach roads were suitable for towing. When arriving at the site we were greeted by a friendly member of staff who spoke good English. We quickly found our pitch which was pretty level, large and was bordered by lovely hedges.Facilities on site were good, toilets and showers were always clean. There is a laundry, we used the washer which cost 4 euros. There is wi-fi on site which you have to pay for, but the speed was good. The site itself is lovely, and very very quiet. There are trees all around which offered good shade, as it was very hot.The surrounding area is great. The village of Cruelly is a short walk away, and has small shops for the essentials, including a small Carrefour. Further afield that is a lot to do. The D-Day sites are within a short drive, Caen and Bayeux are close by too. For us, 2 weeks just wasn’t enough for us to do everything.I would certainly return, as this is the best campsite I’ve visited in France over the 10 years I’ve been visiting.
Our second visit to this lovely campsite, ideal location for ferry and visits to the Normandy beaches. Very friendly and welcoming staff happy to help you with anything you need. Very good facilities and lots of work been carried out over the winter! Plenty to see and do in the historic village, will definitely stay here again.
Camping Les 3 Rivières is a great campsite if you are planning to see the landing beaches. The beach furthest from the campsite is Utah beach which is a 45 minute drive. The other beaches are way closer and are easy to find. The campsite itself has everything to offer for an easy stay. Clean public bathrooms and a tidy place to clean the dishes. I've visited the campsite in april with my tent. There are plenty power outlets and a stable wifi connection in the shared room near the reception. The owners were very suprised to see people arriving with a tent. They were very hospitable people. Communication wasn't a point as they spoke English quite well.Overall it was a great stay, we've been there for one week, being able to see all the landing beaches and some of the biggest museums.
This site is NOTHING like it is advertised on ACSI. No level sites. I booked as soon as the site was open and when we arrived we were given the smallest, most sloping site. Two larger pitches offered to tents who hadn't booked. Hot water only available from 9 am To 8 pm. Would not recommend this site
