CAMPING LE FANAL

A nice campsite with clean and ample facilities. Also has a restaurant, pool, games areas, etc. Lots of kids, so a bit chaotic and noisy at times.On the edge of town, which doesn't seem to have a lot to offer, really. There is a decent supermarket in the centre, though.Advertised rate was much higher higher than I was charged as a solo cyclist in a small tent (15.5 euro). The ladies in reception seemed to make an extra effort to fit me in as I had not booked.

Le Fanal is NOT a family/children-friendly camping, nor is it 4 stars. The opposite of what the website communicates is true. It is an ongoing circus ran BY French young adults FOR French young adults.The general area, the camping site itself, the swimming pool, and mobile homes are okay; but can not be enjoyed because of terrible organisation, service and management.This means:1. Sleepless nights because of very loud music from events organised at the restaurant every night, and no real effort to improve the situation despite the complaints. Apparently it is 'within the legislated limits'...2. Zero supervision at the pool whatsoever while young men race down the slides and jump off a bridge without consideration for kids in the water.The one thing they do keep an eye out for however is to see if men don't wear swimming shorts to the pool. But apparently t-shirts and bodysuits are completely fine though...3. The pool area does NOT get cleaned, it is a disgusting filthy mess.4. A mini club that practically doesn't exist, unless you count the apathic animation team intern teenagers looking down on their phones sitting on the side while blasting loud music through a mobile speaker.5. Ridiculous shows/events that consist mostly of loud music and are supposed to be for kids, at 22:00...6. You can rent a BBQ, if you don't mind waiting for it for 3 hours past the reserved time because some dude doesn't answer his phone...7. The gas ran out in the mobile home (which can happen), but the handyman just barged in unannounced with his dirty shoes, non-reactive to any try to communicate with him...8. Le Fanal is okay with bringing knives onto the camping site and showing it to kids in the pool area. You might be asked kindly to leave IF they even notice. True story, I wish I was kidding.9. They claim to speak multiple languages, but aside from the receptionists the staff will look at you funny if you don't speak French.

Bathrooms are old and loos dirty. Very load party at night. Lots of stationary homes. The lake is not ment for swimming and the pool smells of chemicals. Free Wi-Fi only at the restaurant or charged for separately. Lovely staff though!

I feel sorry for the mechanic/plumber because he was constantly catching up with the worn installations of the sanitary building. Maybe time to upgrade for a real 4 star sanitary unit/building. Contact me, i gladly would help. The staf was really friendly but always leaping behind with these kinda things.

Lovely staff, easy going pretty laid back campsite. Great location to get to main sites.Pros - comfortable mobile home, good range of amenities.Beds okay shower okay, Easy check in and out. Lake pretty. Cons - restaurant closed, no onsite shop, indoor pool small and crowded.
