Latest reviews for CAMPING LE CLOS NORMAND
A lovely little site in a good location. Regrettably the welcome was very lacking and the escort to our pitch was done very grumpily. Maybe we were just unlucky. Presuming that the owners are the ones on the website then they didn’t look like the people we encountered but then it may be an old photo.
Stayed two nights, nice little family run site. We found owners very welcoming and particularly helpful when we had an issue with a flat tyre on our jockey wheel which was appreciated. They helped me find a local supplier for a new inner tube and made a phone call to check they had in stock. Excellent service and very friendly. Pitches were in some places a bit small for larger caravans but adequate. Pool was nice and a bar/small restaurant which we didn't use but was a nice addition. An excellent stopover site for us on way back North back to Dieppe and we would use again.
Having studied the reviews beforehand ,I felt it was mixed, but with a slightly worrying trend of comments referring to unfriendly welcomes. We decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and arrived there without a reservation which has been the norm for us during our 5 week camping-car stay in France and haven't had any problems. We arrived at 11.30am knowing that 12 o clock would be too late and we would have to wait until 2pm. Anyway my wife went into reception only to be greeted with an unfriendly vibe and told to come back at 2pm and not told if there would be a pitch available or not. If I hadn't read the reviews we might have returned at 2pm, but decided not to risk being disappointed and instead drove to a relatively nearby camp site called camping du lac which is absolutely lovely and very friendly.
A clean and well looked after site but not much to do in the immediate location, however walking distance to the local shops and restaurants. The couple who run it obviously care for the site and work very hard, the pool is lovely and the showers are great. That said we didn't get the most friendly of welcomes and the neighbouring dogs were very vocal in the morning, but overall a good site for a one night stopover.
This fine campsite is definitely recommended. Friendly owners, nice and clean sanitary facilities. Located in a village with plenty of amenities (several supermarkets, nice restaurants). We were originally supposed to stay for 3 days but extended for an extra day which was no problem. If we are in the area again we will definitely come back!
