Latest reviews for CAMPING LE CORMORAN
We have camped for ten nights on this site. The site was full for the d day commemorations, but despite that the facilities remained spotless throughout, and the staff are friendly and professional. We have been very impressed by the services and facilities on offer, and by the excellent and regular pitch maintenance. The site itself is delightful, well planted and with statuary etc.Everything the camper needs is here, down to free dog poop bags! This is the best campsite I have stayed on in over forty years of camping, and I have no hesitation in highly recommending it.
Stayed here in our touring caravan for 10 days in April 2023. Lovely site all be it very quiet this time of year. Huge serviced grass pitches, quite private. Well landscaped and kept touring area. Indoor pool is fairly small but adequate. Bit on the chilly side, but again, well maintained and cleaned every day. Shop on site for basics and you can place an order for croissants, pain au chocolat, baguettes freshly baked for pick up the next day. Staff all very friendly and speak English. Small games room with a couple of table tennis tables. Goats on site which are accessible every day but Wednesdays. Free to roam their paddock and are well looked after and very friendly. Large play pack for all ages, bouncy castles inflated during the day. It’s right on the beach north west of Utah beach. Sea goes out quite a way and leaves behind lots of mussels and clams for the seafood fanatics. It’s a little isolated, nearest place of civilisation is Sainte Mer Eglisé, where there’s a supermarket. Pleasant site.
We had a great two week holiday here in our trailer tent. Pitches are big and well laid out and facilities were clean and plentiful. Kids loved it cos of trampolines and bouncy castles always available. Staff (with exception of one man) were great, they were friendly and informative. Lots of local traders visit site with local produce and food which is nice. Water sports were great and FREE for residents (sea kayak, paddle boarding) and the sea is directly opposite the site over a quiet road. The pool complex is nice but was flipping cold to say it was heated. Only about 40 mins from cherbourg.
Most of the Amenities would merit a 5 star rating and the chalets themselves are great. However, some things need to be addressed. There is a disabled toilet shower facility but for those of us who don’t use a wheelchair but have other problems there are no Grab Bars in the showers so it’s difficult to balance and no seat for trying to put your socks and shoes back on. The facilities are kept clean but cobwebs and spiders abound and the ceilings need cleaning. They take dogs but some inconsiderate people don’t pick up their dog mess ! Other inconsiderate people don’t go to the toilet facilities during the night but pee on the sites. With the recent very dry weather, the smell of urine was quite strong almost everywhere. The WIFI is pay as you go €20 for 60 hours but at 1.75 mbs you might as well use a carrier pigeon !The bar is good with very friendly staff and a great Take-Away !
Great campsite and location. We stayed on a premium pitch for 4 nights and the private sanitary block was great. The pitch (as all the ones I saw) was an excellent size and provided privacy with hedges in between each one. The children really enjoyed using the trampolines and bouncy castles and park area. The site itself was a great location - the beach was just across the road. It was well placed to visit the D-Day landing beaches, museums and memorials. We cycled one day along the coast to Utah museum and then on to Saint Mere Eglise which was a lovely cycle ride. We would definitely stay here again if we were visiting Normandy in the future.
