Latest reviews for CAMPING DE LA SENSÉE
Nice site, but not optimal for touring campers. We stayed 2 nights before watching the Tour de France (cobbled sections). Most pitches are taken by permanent mobile- homes or chalets and it's clearly popular with French families. The facilities for touring campers are clean and modern, with some inconsistencies when compared to other campsites of a similar standard across France. Washrooms close in the evening, only toilet open at night. No paper in toilets (bring your own). The biggest anomaly was getting fresh drinking water. I cycled all over the site looking for a tap. Some people used the warm water from the washing up sinks and boiled it. When we asked, we were directed to a tap by the washing up sinks. It had a short hose into the chemical toilet disposal point! In all my visits to campsites all over France and UK I have never seen such an arrangement. The clean drinking water supply is always separate from the dirty waste disposal area. I hope the owner runs a spur or branch pipe to a second tap to rectify this potential health issue. We disconnected the dirty hose, cleaned the tap and used the water, but that is not really an acceptable process. The site was surprisingly peaceful, given its proximity to a road, and the ducks on the stream were entertaining. The cycling in nearly Fressain was amazing!🚴♂️🚴♂️🚴♂️🚴♂️🚴♂️
Lovely Very lovely clean site, very happy to return. Good location , easy reach ofthe docks/ tunnel. Good shop near by for essentials. Pool perfect for children and adults .
A great place to stay A good camping area with very good facilities. English spoken in reception. Excellent location for WW1 battLefields visits.
This site is no good if you're camping in a campervan or tent. It's nearly all trailers/mobile homes, the only cold water supply is also the chemical toilet disposal point, there was no soap or toilet paper supplied (despite my reporting this at reception). Not enough toilets if the site is busy, either - which it was when we stayed. To use the toilet at the far end of the site from reception, women have to go past an open urinal and the toilets and showers are shared between men and women in cubicles with big gaps below and beneath.Unless you're booking a stay in a trailer, find another site. It's a shame because the village is very pretty.
Great summer feel. Busy site. Fun pools with great lake view. Nice outdoor pool with little slide-great for children as ends in 150mm depth splash pool. Small indoor section. Brasserie has a relaxing feel and take-away was easy. We arrived at 5pm and there was a pitch. We asked to change from hard standing to grass and were given a new pitch straight away. Good à cess to wash blocks. Only stayed one night.
