Latest reviews for L' ORÉE DESS CAPS
Stayed for the night on way back home. 2 star campsite wich I prefer to fancy ones.Quiet and peaceful. Lovely family runs it.
We were delayed by the ferry and ended up arriving extremely late. We tried to keep the campsite posted via emailUnfortunately due to the language barrier we were stuffed. However when phoning the site the reception lady met us at the gate at 1amNow you can't fault that for service.Wonderful place to stay very tranquil
Contrary to the previous reviewer, we found the campsite very welcoming. I spoke French to the (very patient) owner but I think he speaks some English. The facilities are well laid out, it's not too big, with mainly static caravans with the odd tourer and tent. Mostly French clientèle. Play area for the kids. All in all a good site and good value for money. The village of Licques is big enough to have bakers, butchers small supermarket, couple of bar / restaurants etc.Day trips to the coast, or St Omer (lovely town with gardens) only half an hour away.
We stopped on our travel through the region on the earlier Campsite les pommiers des trois pays.this afternoon my husband and I decided to go for a bike ride and have a look at this camping. As a sign at the entrance states strictly no entrance for visitors without permission I was approaching the reception to friendly ask if we could have a look at the camping as we are just next door and was going to explain that we travel through this region quite frequently; but never got the chance. On approach to reception a man cam rushing out of the door and I got to about the point where I was saying we are just next door to have been quite firmly interrupted with the answer NO THIS IS A PRIVATE CAMPSITE, quite bizarrely in English as I asked in French. I repeated his response a bit surprised and got the same firmly response NO this is a private campsite, followed by a half heartened desole. Now after this unprofessional and unfriendly incident WE certainly will not come back for more or worse will be spend any money there. So people looking at these reviews , be aware that on approach your face my not be suitable for this camping and you might be turned away.
Accomodation may be dated but beautyfull location with all options for free
