Great campsite even for travelers that are just passing through. Good price and well kept sites. Water and power hookups are available. Very clean and well maintained. I highly recommend!
A wonderful, quiet, well-kept oasis in the countryside, in total contrast to the awful site we stayed in the previous night. If mini-golf, tennis, fishing, kids playgrounds and a bar sound like your idea of hell (like they’re my idea of hell), don’t worry! They may all be there at Camping L’Escale but they’re quiet and unobtrusive. The lady at reception was perfectly lovely and the facilities quiet, clean and plentiful. We really lucked out here. Thanks!
Excellent stop over for ferry and a rest place having just come off ferry. Easy journey to supermarket in Boulogne too. Nice level pitches with water and electric. Toilets clean.
A vey pleasant Camp Site the staff are always friendly and polite facilities are very good the Restaurant was very good and very French which can be unusual on camp sites well worth a visit {try the veals kidneys in a mustard sauce}A must for the start of the holiday and the end only 18 miles from Calais. If we are on the planet in 2024 we will look forward to a visitKind RegardsMarshall and Gail Blair
We stayed for just the 1 night as a stopover between Boulogne-sur-Mer & Calais in readiness for our Sunday morning ferry crossing with Irish Ferries. We found the site in the ACSI book but sadly they didn't take it, possibly because it was high season. We stayed in our motorhome and arrived shortly before 2pm having travelled the short distance from the commercial centre at Boulogne, a journey of less than half an hour. The reception was closed when we arrived but there was a note on the door advising 'motorhomers' to find a pitch in the area immediately behind reception. So we were pitched up nice & quickly. Our stay for 3 adults, the motorhome and our dog was €36.The motorhome ares was well kept, with nearly cut grassed areas, hardstanding, water & electricity and separated from adjoining plots by small hedging and bushes. We then had a wander around the site, which I would describe as small to medium, not flat, nicely undulating and certainly not steep or hardwork at all. The site is a mix of static homes, camping pitches and residential static homes, for guests who have bought one of the sites available new homes. All very smart and well maintained, not like some of the sites that we've stayed on.The focal point of the site is the central restaurant and bar area. We booked for the restaurant, which was good, as it was very popular and full very quickly, both inside and out. By 8.30 they were turning people away. So if you stay and fancy a good meal, then make sure that you book. The restaurant was very good, the food matched by the service. Both very good and a nice end to our travels. The shower block by the motorhome parking ares was modern, very clean and well maintained with hot water for washing up and showers. The chemical toilet waste was in the shower block next to the toilets and the grey waste was at the end of the front car park, nicely tucked out of the way and easy to access. We left just before 9 on Sunday morning and arrived at the ferry port in Calais by 9.30 without rushing.A well kept and maintained campsite, with friendly staff and both good food and drinks in the restaurant & bar 🍸 😋 🍺.
