Latest reviews for CAMPING DU CHÂTEAU ET DE L'OSERAIE
This was our first campsite on our recent tour in our campervan and our last stop on the way home. Both times we had a flat, tidy pitch and the facilities are modern, lots of hot water and very clean. No loo paper or toilet seats which isn't that unusual in our experience but lost them a star. There is just one restaurant in the village, no cafe or shop to walk to.
Motorhome pitches are a good size, grass (if you want) some have a hardstanding, elec & some have waste. A few are shaded. Beautiful pool.
Camping places arent too big.Sanitation is fine. (you do have to bring your own toilet paper)Bakery services in the morning are not expensive and of an amazing quality. The camping is also located on a canal which you can cycle along.(pictures are from a small lake located next to the camping ground)
I would imagine that this site has a different character during the high season, but when we visited in September it felt as if the touring pitches were almost exclusively being used as a transit site for people motoring South, largely because it is about 5 minutes from the nearest autoroute junction. Most of the site is given over to statics. We stayed for three nights and were happy to have almost exclusive use of the facilities, including the good swimming pool, during the day. The pitches are variable in size but most are marked off with hedges and seemed to be well maintained. You can walk out of the back of the site and onto the side of the Canal du Seine. The nearest supermarket is about 15 minutes away in Péronne. Staff were helpful, sanitary facilities were clean and adequate.
Very nice looking site, pitches large & well maintained, we stayed for 4 days as there were places around the area that we wanted to visit, however it is mostly a transit site with people only staying 1 night which I think is the reason that when we complained about no hot water they did nothing to rectify this. So for 4 days we had cold showers, also is it too much trouble to provide toilet paper & soap to wash your hands. We have visited many sites in France & this is still very hit & miss.
