Latest reviews for CAMPING LE CLOS CACHELEUX
We stayed here overnight. I hadn’t read the reviews when I booked the site and was concerned when I did see them. However this is a lovely spacious site in a pleasant wooded area. The site has suffered considerable damage from the storms and there is still work to be done. The site is well situated for a stop over, an hour and a half from Calais and not far from the motorway. The pitches are huge and offer dappled shade from the trees. The shower block etc was clean and well maintained. My only negative was the lack of hot water in the showers. Plenty for washing up!I feel that some of the other comments on the other reviews were a bit unfair bearing in mind the excessive storm damage which will take time to clear.I would stop here again.
Stayed for a week in August, and was very pleased with everything. Pitches are very large, toilet block always clean and stocked up. Very nice sauna and jacuzzi. Was great having bread delivered to our pitch each morning. Staff were friendly and helpful. Plenty of place to visit nearby. An excellent holiday and would definitely go back .
A LITTLE TIRED There was no one around in reception and a young man on a golf buggy wasn't able to help us. The pitch was fine. There was inconsistent lighting in the saniterres and I had to take my torch to go to the toilet and take a shower. There was a notice asking you to press the tap several times to get hot water. The hot water that did eventually come was just warm such that my wife was unable to take a shower. It's a shame because with a little more attention, our stay could have been really good.
Very poor We arrived late on a Sunday. We just caught the reception staff and they were polite and helpful. But - the restaurant we had been relying on was shut. We then found the toilet block was very dirty and desperately in need of a clean. We left early next morning without having a shower. The whole campsite looked run down and semi derelict: there were static homes parked untidily, and one had been vandalised. The whole site was scruffy and uninviting.
In our top3 of worst campingsites ever. We booked this on our way from the South of France back to Amsterdam, based on their website. We arrived at 18:30pm and found nobody at the reception. Nobody answered any of the 3 phone numbers we found. There were no clear instructions anywhere. And the swimming pool was closed (on their website they state the pool to be open till 8pm!) and still under construction. When we finally got someone on the phone, there was no help and nobody came; "find out yourself ", was the message. We found the campingsite outdated, old, worn, dirty. Electricity is hard to come by. The bathrooms dirty with no hot water, the drainage at the water base clogged. The pool under construction. A disaster, a totally overpriced nightmare.DON'T GO HERE!
