Latest reviews for CAMPING DOMAINE DE DIANE
This is a really lovely place to stay. There are lots of facilities (e.g. heated indoor, and outdoor pools, playgrounds x2, fishing lake etc.) on-site so you could easily stay here for a few days without even leaving the site. The accommodation is clean and well-equipped. The beds are all very comfortable. The staff are all supportive, helpful and friendly. There really is nothing to complain about!
At 1700€ per week in the high season, you get what you pay for. The location is incredible, the local watering hole is very good and also with heaps of activities on-site for the kids. The 2 pools, in and outside, are immaculately maintained (not high in chlorine either) and also have a sliding ride. The surrounds are magnificent, and you CAN get lost here in this mini paradise. There's large lakes where you can watch the ducks, local wildlife, and catfish to fish for. I've seen a 10kg catfish caught on previous visits.Ft Mahon Beach is close by and has some of the more impressive restaurants I've seen in France comparing food and service, of course.2 hours from Lille, 90 ish from Boulogne sur mer, 30 from La Treport (trippy city worth a visit), 2 hours fron Honfleur (must visit) and la Touchet about an hour (I think).
We were 3 adults and 2 children and had a great stay in one of the villas during term-time so it was quiet. I can image during the summer holidays it would be very busy, but we had an amazing week. The food at the onsite restaurant was really good and all staff were very friendly and helpful. Location is great and pools are lovely. (They do like their tight swim shorts, and so be warned you may be asked to purchase some, however my son and I made it through the week wearing our board shorts and only managed to upset one staff member). We had a lovely stay, rented bikes on one day to go down to the beach (very easy cycle ride on a designated bike track). There is also a bike track to nearby Fort Mahon which is an easy cycle ride. There is a great playpark for kids onsite. You can hire at no charge from reception volleyball, table tennis kit, tennis racquets and balls, boules, golf clubs and balls for a crazy golf course. Which the kids all really enjoyed. There is also a pool table and table football table in the restaurant. For me the nicest thing was that it was not overrun by Brits and we were the only British onsite. Whilst we tried with our limited French the staff were very accommodating and we did not have any language issues
Visited twice now. The location is perfect for us - a short hop from Calais to this, a beautiful site, beautiful surroundings, pool is gorgeous, staff are friendly. It is like a secret escape... so nice you want to keep it to yourself :)We loved Quend itself. The beach and restaurants were fabulous, the same too for Fort Mahon. We had an amazing meal in the Monkey Bar. Try the galette and their desserts! Ooh la la! 😍We visited the casino too.The markets around are lovely for a mooch. Fort Mahon was good. Our favourite was Berck. We visited Le Touquet too. Again, fantastic beach, coffee shops, market we're all great. We had an amazing chilled break here. We didn't want to come home!
We like this place so this was our 2nd visit. We stay in one of the seven villas they have on site. Very well appointed with 3 large bedrooms (all with bathrooms). Lounge area a touch small but you have great outside space and a BBQ to use. These Villas have access to a separate pool which tends to be more adult orientated but not exclusively so. The main pool is where the kids would normally like to be with its slides etc. Bar and restaurant serve reliably good food and all the staff are very friendly. Oh... this is a very french holiday park. What I mean by this is in our 2 visits we have only noticed 1 other English family. This is not a negative by the way as you just settle into what the French do and get to work on your language skills. They do have some people with reasonable English so you can easily survive. When you arrive get down to the restaurant and book as it can get busy on certain nights. Also book your bread and croissants for the next morning. They bake fresh to order each morning and it is a ritual to wander down and collect this and maybe grab an expresso. This park is very close to the beaches at Quend-plage and Fort Mahon-plage. Bike tracks are brilliant in the area offering safe routes to get around and many are very flat. Take your bike or hire when you get there but would say it is essential fun and you will notice you are the odd one out if you don't. If you loke horse riding you wont be disappointed either as there is alot of choice in the area. As for Journey time from the Channel Tunnel, it is so easy and only took us 70 minutes at an easy pace. If you are looking for Brit abroad this really isn't the place for you, most of the French have their own holiday homes here and return year on year. So you are essentially a welcome guest in their environment.
