A nice campsite with good facilities however we had issue with the pitches and the noise. We originally wanted a pitch closer to the beach however the ground was rock so we couldn't peg the tent and had to stay closer to the activities. The pitches were on the smaller side with not much privacy, however the main issue was the very loud entertainment until 11.30pm. With very young children in a tent this was not great for us.If you manage to secure a pitch on the other side of the site this shouldn't be an issue. The best thing is the lovely quiet beach just walking distance from the site.
The camping has two parts: the front part near the reception and the pool and the back part near the beach. We were assigned a spot on the front part on the main road of the campsite and we did not enjoy it with a family of 4. The pitches are on sand and with the rain it was difficult to manage the sand and the mud. Our pitch was also on the main stretch with cars and cyclist passing by very regularly making it difficult and dangerous for our 2 and four year old to play outside without a close eye. But the biggest issue is the noise. Every evening between 20.30 and 23.30 there is french animation with very loud volumes. Normally this is the time we sit outside while the kids sleep to relax but this was not possible due to our kids being unable to sleep and because sitting outside felt like you were camping at a festival. All in all it was a very tiring experience because it was noisy on all nights exvept the sunday and we left two nights earlier than anticipated (we booked 7). The part near the beach seemed much nicer and might be a lot more calm. We asked to be relocated but this could not be accomodated. There were no alternatives offered. As advice to the campsite: do not place young families near the animation stage (and preferably away from the main road). I also heard other small kids crying in our area during the loud animation. For campers with small children or who like some more rest: I think it could still be a good campsite if you are placed nearer to the beach. Ask for this! Otherwise there is nice pool for young children and the beach and the dunes are a wonderful and quiet natural area.
Arrived around 18.30, paid for our pitch and was told where to go....well...never have I seen anything so ridiculous, we have an 8 meter motorhome, which they knew about, it was literally impossible to manouver the motorhome round to our pitch as it was so narrow, people were having to move their cars for us to try and get round the narrow road, in the end we just gave up as we nearly damaged our motorhome and someone's car! To top it all, I walked to see where the pitch was and there was a car parked on it!! After a lot of manouvering to get back to reception to say we wanted to leave and get our money refunded, the reception was closed @19.10 when it says on their website closes @ 19.30! By this time it was too late to try and book somewhere else as everywhere was closed so we had to park up on the roadside for the night 😡 Went back to reception first thing in the morning to say it was totally unsuitable there for us and ask for a refund and she said she couldn't do it but would request one from APV as she could understand our predicament, took my bank details for the refund and said she would email me yesterday when the refund would be done and here I am still waiting for that email, absolutely shocking customer service!😡😡 Looks like I have now lost over £116.00 for a really shocking experience 😡😡 My advice is steer well clear of this place if you have a large vehicle!
Went with 2 kids (2 & 5) they absolutely loved the small water park and bouncy castle. Gave 4 stars as my pitch was opposite shower block and the hedge had huge gaps in it so no privacy really. Overall great campsite and direct access to a beach which was a bonus.
Clean, quiet and close to beach. Lovely staff! Fantastic campsite. Clean, friendly and great wet playground for kids. Would recommend this campsite to others.
