Latest reviews for CAMPING LE PHARE
Le Phare has a great vibe. Friendly staff, nice crowd. All families with kids ranging from 0-18yo. We were happy to pay more for the trailer than for instance a private vacation rental because of 1) social aspect for the kids 2) location. You're at a stone's throw from the beach and have the best daily market (summer season at least) at 5 min cycling.Unfortunately they ask for a 10% fee if you want to pick your spot. We were quite unhappy with the lucky draw but after two nights we were able to relocate to 179 which had the privacy and green all around as we saw on the website. Thank you wonderful staff at reception and the restaurant for your hospitality.
This is a lovely site, comprising of a couple of hundred challets (I guess) with a great indoor and outdoor pool. Easy access to beaches and also sailing and surfing rental means it is a great location. The site is right at the end of the island, so a good hour taxi from La Rochelle. Bikes are a must, and can be rented from the hotel. My only reservation is that it is full to the brim of young families, kids EVERYWHERE!. Yes I have 3 myself (11 and 14) but generally this place is aimed at younger families .
Beautiful peaceful destination with fantastic attentive staff - would highly recommend.Second visit to this beautiful location and its got better by keeping its original brilliance and adding mini-golf, new activities and a food truck on Wednesdays for lunch. Highly recommend.Excursions for both adults and kids (bird watching with aperitif; catamaran excursion; meet a salt maker) we’re all excellent and almost free - highly worthwhile.
We had an amazing time here in early September. Super friendly vibes, very helpful staff and a great location on the island (only 30 min bike to Ars-en-Re).The premium chalets are very modern and well designed with excellent privacy from the way the plants have been encouraged to grow around them which adds to the calming vibes.Obviously your experience is very weather dependent (you're on the Atlantic coast) so it's a good idea to plan for poor weather and bring your own entertainment for of it rains.Bike hire was very convenient with friendly staff and the pools were excellently maintained and surprisingly quiet for the time of year.On-site food was a little expensive but on par with what you see on the rest of the island.Overall we had an excellent time and will leave with fantastic memories.
Our family loved La Phare! Great location next to the beach, 2 pools (indoor and outdoor) and a very good on-site restaurant. The best thing was the freedom our 2 boys (9yo and 5yo) had to roam around the site completely safely on their bikes and meet other kids. The only improvement was the Kids Club need some more experienced staff who could deal better with shy kids, and some of the more boisterous ones! But hey ho, still we give it 5 stars overall.
