Latest reviews for CAMPING CAMPÉOLE CLAIREFONTAINE
Nice clean campsite, very friendly service from everyone. Great facilities, good position.Would have liked to see some regulations for the pool, dangerous customers jumping infront of swimmers, children unruly, running everywhere, ball games. Real chaos in a dangerous area unsupervised. Also staff need to slow down on the electric buggies with young children around. With these changes I would thoroughly recommend the campsite
We had a nice touring pitch for our caravan, but it does feel more of a mobile home park than a touring site, with lots of small units squeezed in. Best bits: lovely pool, good toilets/showers, close to beach. Worst bits: reception is closed for 2 hours at the very time most people arrive (meaning lots of very hot, fed up people queuing when they finally opened at 3pm), only one rubbish/recycling area at the very far end of the site, and the access road is very tight for caravans (chaos if you meet one coming the other way!).
This is the nearest site into Royan so we stayed a few days. The man on reception was very helpful and spoke some English. (so there was a queue) There were a few pitches left. However, these were either flooded or not great. Thought it was expensive for the quality of the pitch. It's a big site with lots of static caravans plus touring pitches. Electricity is included but the point was so far away our lead wouldn't reach. The toilet block was good, but if you wanted an electric point you had to go to the ones near the swimming pool. The elsan was also here. They asked for a credit card to hold a deposit. We heard it was in case we left lots of rubbish. Problem was that the rubbish bins were as far away as was possible on the site.Great location for visiting Royan. The beach is 5 mins walk away and the main town about 3/4 hour.
Coming to the end of our 2 week stay at campeole clairefontaine and we've absolutely loved it. Lovely site with excellent staff, toilet block is alway clean and showers are lovely. Excellent swimming pool and waterslides and there always spare sun beds available. The site is perfectly positioned for the beach and bikes are a must as this is a very bike friendly area and we've had some lovely rides out along the coast for lunch/coffees. Our camper has moved twice in the two weeks such is the cycling round here. We've already said about coming back in the coming years to explore some more. Lovely site that is very friendly and welcoming. We're looking forward to coming back.
We have stayed in this campsite for many yearsIt is really well situated near a big beach with restaurants, Cafes, bars, bakers and everything you need. In easy reach of walks and cycle paths along the coast.Until this year it had a great atmosphere. Right amount of space, trees and permanent options, including big Masai tents we loved to stay in …But now… plastic mobile homes stuck about as close as they can get them.. no Masai tents, and customer service? Well. We always book an out of season slot in September, and always got good and appropriate accommodation. This year, the booking site told us there was no accommodation for 2 but only the most expensive option devised for 6. When we arrived it was clear plenty of the smaller mobile homes were actually free. The final insult was to receive an email informing us of a cleaning bill of 60 euros, with photos attached. These were laughable. A few drops and crumbs - 5 minutes of cleaning. My legal advisor described the bill as an abuse, but said we could do nothing because of the wording of the leaflet on cleaning we were given on our arrival. We have stayed in countless accommodation and always been told ( on this very campsite too) that we had left it impeccable. Never a problem.I spoke to the director of the site who seemed sympathetic and said she would get back to me that day. Not a word.Well they’ve lost a loyal customer and gained bad reviews. Very disappointed to have had our holiday in our previously favourite place, greatly soured.
