This is by far the best campsite I’ve ever stayed at! We had a riverside pitch with electric and it was perfect. The owner was very friendly and helpful. We took our own inflatable kayaks and there were plenty of places to get in the water. We managed to kayak down river from the site to Beaulieu and the owner kindly helped arranged a bus back for us! The river is so much fun, lots of families using rubber rings and air beds to have fun. Definitely take shoes to wear in the water. The facilities were immaculately clean. The washing machine had a 30min wash which was really useful. Although it was a busy site it didn’t feel busy or crowded. We hired bikes from the site and cycled to Argentat, which was a nice ride and fairly flat. We ordered fresh bakery items daily which was nice to have. The on-site shop sold plenty of every day items. We would definitely return for another visit and were sad to leave!
Super friendly staff, with super friendly people. We arrived in pouring rain and we were helped onto our pitch by our Dutch neighbours, which was a nice touch. Toilets were clean and had seats, however the restaurant was basic but adequate. The pool was simple, but had a rock which the kids loved to jump off of. There was also a stream of water at the edge of the site, which could be used as a lazy river with some rubber rings and created some great entertainment for an afternoon. Lovely views and waterfalls walks, and there was a lake (Honey Lake, which we ended up camping at 6 years later by coincidence) which had some diving boards. Overall, slightly basic site, but did everything perfectly and was perfect for the kids at the time (ages 8 & 10).
Nice campsite on the banks of the Dordogne.Friendly Dutch owners and a good swimming pool still open in September.Thé sanitaires are old but kept clean and there is plenty of hot water in the showers.
This has to be one of the best campsites that we have stayed in. Big, clean, friendly, in a great location, lots to do in and around, and so much fun going on in the campsite itself that you don't have to go out. Wonderful river, great pool, 2 good bars, nice shop with lending library. We absolutely loved it. We'll be back for sure!
One of the best campings I've been too. Excellent facilities, clean sanitary and a heated swimming pool. And all of that one the banks of the river Dordogne, with the rapids murmuring just a few meters outside my tent.
