CAMPING LE GIBANEL - SEA GREEN

Quiet tranquillity in the French countryside.Wifi is restricted to the office area. Swimming pool is unheated but invigoratingThere's a restaurant that I haven't used yet.We arrived to find a broken bed in the lounge but the staff changed it out quickly.Friendly helpful staff.

Great location, good services (playground, rentals, restaurant, etc.), good shady pitches, but the joy of staying in such a good location was greatly reduced by the unacceptable state of the showers and toilets. One thing is that from certain parts of the camping you have to walk quite a lot to reach one. But when we arrived in the afternoon the toilets were already in a filthy condition and they weren't cleaned until late next afternoon. Bring your own toilet paper!

A really beautiful location and very helpful management. The layout and plots were excellent with good shade. It has such huge potential to be tidied up and refurbished. Some investment is needed. It seemed dilapidated and unkempt in places. My only big criticism is that the toilets were dirty and smelly. They were never cleaned properly with disinfectant, only new paper put in. We did however have a really good stay here and enjoyed it.

So I went here and the First impression was good and bad. There want any Gate so anyone could Enter the Camp site. We went to the reception and got a map with the place we will be staying. The next day we went to an activity and found out that the staff only speaks French and not English, at the bar-restaurant you had to wait very long Just for One drink, we wanted to eat at the bar-restaurant but found out that the menu didn't have alot and wasnt anything special and the card for take out was even less. The Swimming pool is Nice but since there are a lot of Children they will get bored pretty fast. The Animation is also not very good. There is One leader and she can not speak very well English. The form you gotta sign for the Animation is also in French so we didn't know what it Said. The store is also too Small and you cant even buy much. Overall, this is a very bad Camp site and I would NOT reccomend you coming here. Very sad because it is on a Beautiful location. Now just a summary: bad food, not Tourist friendly or Child friendly, Beautiful location, terrible safety. We Saw a lot of people because of those things ho away Earlier then they were supposed to. Another Side note: 90% of the time tgey dont even have the Things that are on the menu.

Where do I start? This place is the "Fawlty Towers" of campsites! We arrived, to be sent to a pitch that was occupied (a lovely riverside pitch that we had been looking forward to staying at). We paid a premium for this pitch and were bitterly disappointed to be told that we had to find another pitch. We were given a non-riverside pitch without electricity (because the electricity was broken - and the receptionist was still selling electricity to other campers whilst knowing full well it wasn't working!). After a long wait and unsuccessful conversations with a totally arrogant, blunt and rude chap on reception, the manager eventually offered me a refund which had to be processed by their head office. At the time of writing this review it has not been received (nearly 2 weeks after our stay). Staff were rude and unwelcoming. Food in the restaurant was limited and basic. We slept and left; and were glad to have left! One of the other campers told us that they had similar experiences and were leaving after one night despite having booked and paid for 4! Says it all really! Furthermore, the site is covered in low trees and we struggled to manoeuvre in our motorhome - take this into account if you book; although I'd not recommend it! The site's only saving grace is its beautiful setting on the bank of the Dordogne - however, there are plenty of other campsites that are far superior!
