Large spaces for a camper, not fully enclosed for privacy just demarcation but ok because large pitches. Near the village for creperie and a small restaurant open on Sunday evenings. Bakery in village too. All walking distance. Pleasant staff.
This was a fantastic place to camp for a few nights. We had a large and level pitch with hedges. The facilities are modern, clean and excellent. The showers are hot too. We cycled from the campsite on three days to different areas. The town is pleasant. The boulangerie is a short distance away and has tasty bread and treats. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Thank you.
I could say many good things about this place but I’m going to focus on the cleanliness. The staff clearly work tirelessly to keep the place nice and clean. The shower block is fantastic with separated areas for showers/washing up/toilets and such. They have a lot of clever systems on the taps like thigh operated taps so you can rinse your plates with both hands.Camping plots are also a decent size with plenty of shade and electric hookups. There’s also a small kids playground and next to it a badminton net and outdoor ping pong table. The rackets are freely available in the store house beside which also has communal fridge/freezers.We didn’t try the pool but it’s right next door, just don’t forget your right swimming trunks like most outdoor pools around France.
Pleasant site situated in a quiet but well kept town. The camp site is not overly large and when we arrived, very busy. The showering facilities are very good, clean with good size cubicles. Being a bit old fashioned I would prefer to have segregated male and female toilets. We had no problem at reception as the young man spoke good English. The only negative was the cassette disposal. This was a little awkward as I had to lift the cassette high and empty into a 4” pipe. Would also be nice to see a defined segregation of the hoses i.e the one for sanitary use be a different colour and not being as close to the hose for motor home refill. The town itself has some lovely cycle tracks one which takes you to the town of Colon which is a lovely tourist town with shops and eateries.
This is one of my favourite campsites in France. The site is well kept and toilets/showers always immaculate and the grass pitches are huge, with plenty of shade. The surrounding area is beautiful and there is a large SuperU 1 mile away in the village and a massive Carrefour 3 miles away in Niort. Highly recommended, definitely 5 stars!
