Lots of potentialWe assume that the site has recently changed hands. It is in a perfect peaceful location and the cabins appear brand new. I couldn’t fault our cabin with hot tub. There is plenty of space between cabins and a lovely view down to the lake. The pool is clean, and the staff are helpful.Free use of canoes was a nice touch.Goats and sheep a nice addition for younger childrenUnfortunately it seems that the cabins have been installed but the facilities do not match their high standards. The shop looked new but was practically empty. Our cabin was not ready at 4pm, it was finally ready at 5:50pm which was disappointing after a long dive. We were offered some water while we waited.Although the website mentions a gourmet menu, there is no restaurant or well stocked bar. There is a new small cabin which sold pizza, salad and ice cream. They sold soft drinks and beer only. No spirits and not even a glass of wine?! I did ask every day, and couldn’t understand why putting some wine in the fridge was not possible? There were wine glasses on the side? It also closed at lunchtime which seemed ridiculous?! This could be a real gold mine if only there was a small bar and more food available . I can only guess that this might be the plan for next year? There were a few brick built bbqs scattered around the site. I would suggest having a bbq on each pitch, or at least having the option to hire one.

Have just come back from camping here for 10 days. We were very excited from having found the site when it was still under the old ownership. Since the new ownership lots seems to have changed. Lots of new lodges so you've lost lots of the green space. A bar/ restaurant which isn't really fit for purpose. Chairs that were half unpacked, with the rubbish just left on the floor. We weren't able to check in to our camping pitch until 4pm. I can understand why with lodges this might be the case but what would have been the harm in letting us access the pitch earlier?!More umbrellas needed around the pool area, 3 is not enough. The bakery service left alot to be desired too, we ordered bits most morning and 3 of those morning our order either wasn't there or was wrong. The bread, crossiants and pain au chocolate were very good though. The electricity tripped on our pitch, which left the fridge not working. Was told it had been sorted but hadn't had to ask another 2 times for someone to come and look. We had the throw all the food away as it had gone off over the day. No apology for this and we felt to awkward to mention. We did find having our own bathroom and amenities really useful. We probably wouldn't return to this site.

Came with high expectations after seeing the website. Sadly it didn't inspire us.Booked a Perigourdine Cabin, which shows an upstairs and downstairs. On arrival told not ready so we took a drink in reception. 10 mins later was told it was ready to our surprise. (Reception and seating are there is lovely and at this point all good)Headed off to the accommodation and saw it was a regular Cabin with bunk beds (no good for tall teenage girls) overall the accommodation was not what we reserved and was small. So back to reception to have to wait a short while for the manager to try fob me off that it was a Cabin Perigourdine but a different style. I explained this info is not stated on their site and not acceptable. After which she said oh well what you booked was only checked out of this morning but had not been cleaned. They then reluctantly cleaned the Cabin we had booked. Was told we could use the pool and bar while we waited. So off we went to the bar. Bar is a metal container being covered in wood with a small unfinished decking. Also not stated on the website! The young lady on the bar sat fanning herself, no bonjour and we had to ask if we could get a drink! Asked for a draught beer, no draught. Only bottles of blanch or IPA, no regular lager. So hubby opted for a coke zero, no coke zero! At this point he said not bothered about a drink.I asked for a rosé, no rosé. I also gave up!I did mention it is high season and these things should be available. The bar staff told me it wasn't high season, my response was if the 14th July wasn't high season I don't know when it is!!!!Finally got into our booked accommodation an hour and half after arrival.Accommodation was excellent and an added bonus of a dishwasher. Very cosy, pillows could be better as it's advertised as a 5star outdoor hotel!Bar was revisited in the hope of getting a pizza. While getting drinks the staff had called their boss that there was no more pizza dough! Luckily, we had some food with us as where else can you eat on the 14th July without reservation. Other customers not happy and camp shop had closed at 6.30pmSecond night we called another local campsite in Limeuil and ate there. The pool is nice but only 2 parasols! This place has a lot to do to live up to its online image! Not an outdoor hotel experience as we have had elsewhere in the past.We feel like the wool was pulled over our eyes and at 130E a night feel very let down. Managent need to accept that this place is not finished since its acquisition and reduce the rates and be honest on their website!!!Good points, excellent welcome from the young lady on our arrival. Very quite and fab accommodation. Good stocked shop, nice area to sit with a drink at reception which seriously should be looked at making a bar/restaurant. The container bar is OK for N ice cream and drink for the pool but not becoming of a 5 star campsite.

What a great place to stay! Very laid-back and relaxed. The sunny lodge we stayed in was very nice and had a great view. The whole campsite was very clean and well kept. Guests are encouraged to separate their garbage and there is even a compost bin. There are some activities you can join for kids and adults without having to pay extra. The food and drinks are on the expensive side but not more expensive than other campsites. The bed was too firm for our liking but other than that we had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend.

We had a great week at Les Valades. The site is big with an amazing sense of space. The woodland camping area was perfect for keeping cool in this very hot summer and the pitches were flat and a good size. The other campers on the site, a good mix of Dutch, French and English, were quiet and sociable. The facilities were clean and sufficient for the number of campers. The open area of the site going down to the lake was lovely for walks and games. From our pitch at the top of the site it was about a 5-10 minute walk down to the pool and lake area (it is possible to drive down there if you have difficulties with mobility). Our children loved the pools and we spent a good amount of time on and in the lake! The walk back up was no real problem and the sunsets were amazing! We will definitely go back again.
