Latest reviews for CAMPING LA CHÂTAIGNERAIE
Decent enough if you are in a mobile home, but not worth the price premium, it’s not. 4 star campsite basicallyThe campsite is small, amenities abrogate, and very busy, not much to do for teenagers. Pretty good for young kids. The staff, however, are all great, super helpful, and very nice.
We spent 12 nights at La Chataigneraie Sarlat and we really enjoyed our stay. My two children loved the swimming pool although the main pool can get very crowded in the afternoon. Our pitch was quite and shaded. Shower and bathroom facilities were good. Lots to do in surrounding area too.
Wuper
Only French is spoken at this campsite. The guests are also mainly French. This makes it difficult for the children to make contact and they do not make friends easily. What is striking is that the French smoke and vape a lot on the terrace. This can ruin the meal a bit. We had heavy smokers in the house opposite us and that made eating outside really dirty when the wind was blowing our way. You don't want to do that to the children, so to speak. The mobile homes could use some finishing so that a football does not end up directly under the caravan. So just finishing up. We missed a large sports field where the kids could kick a ball. There is a small field where football/basketball is played, but in the cooler hours it is occupied by older children and older youth. The biggest advantage of this campsite is the swimming pool. Nicely laid out and good security against misconduct. However, loungers are often sagging and there are too few. We often lay on the (sweltering) artificial grass with a towel.
Superb week in a top campsite. Excellent pool complex with lots of slides in one with double buoy. Very shady campsite except on the new part where you will have to wait a little to take advantage of the new plantations. Super friendly host and good entertainment.
