Located on the route connecting the capital of Périgord Noir, Sarlat, to Bergerac, the capital of Périgord Pourpre, you are welcome to this charming family campsite on the banks of the Dordogne.

This 3-star campsite benefits from a pebble beach that forms when the river level drops, allowing you to swim safely in the Dordogne. In addition, this campsite also has a solar-heated swimming pool for those who prefer warmer water. Whether river or pool, you will have the choice for swimming.

The Camping Le Garrit offers only mobile homes with semi-covered terraces, as well as two traditional Périgord stone gîtes, small Périgord houses where you can enjoy a comfortable and peaceful vacation.

The charming medieval village of Saint-Cyprien is just a 10-minute walk or a 2-minute bike ride away, where you will find all the shops and services you need for your stay. Moreover, the owners have chosen sustainable development for managing their campsite (rainwater harvesting, solar water heaters, a vegetable garden in the middle of the campsite, etc.), so you will appreciate the peaceful and natural atmosphere in an environment that opens widely onto the Dordogne River.

Ideally located at the heart of the major sites of Périgord Noir, you can enjoy both nature and cultural activities. Many tourist sites such as the castles of Beynac, Commarque, or Les Milandes with its beautiful gardens, the caves and chasms of Proumeyssac, Maxange, and the prehistoric sites of Montignac-Lascaux and Les Eyzies are nearby. The numerous hiking trails, canoe routes, and various activities available in the region will delight sports enthusiasts. You can even discover the splendors of Périgord from the sky in a hot air balloon.

Feel free to ask the reception for additional information about all the available services and leisure activities.

Wonderful 5 days at this excellent campsite. Madame was so friendly and helpful. Smashing pitches so close to The River Dordogne. Toilet and shower block is excellent with free hot water in showers, washrooms and laundy area. Site is about 1km from the pretty village of Saint Cyprien.

It's been few years but like others we intended a short stay and ended up longer, reluctantly leaving to head north for our ferry. Currently heading their way and hoping to repeat our lovely stay and perhaps a balloon trip for my significant birthday. See you soon.

Good location, on the banks of the Dordogne. Easy walk into town, passing two branches of Carrefour, one medium sized, the other small. Well decorated one street town - not a destination in itself. The campsite was end-of-season quiet while we were there in late September. The site is shielded from nearby road and railway by huge trees. Mature trees (including fig - delicious) offer a variety of sun and shade. Electricity is either adjacent to, or nearby each pitch. Water appeared within easy reach. The sanitation block is extensive, well equipped and comfortable to use. There’s a small pool near the riverbank and access to a disused rail bridge now used just by walkers and cyclists. The reception noticeboard gives opening hours but there’s a button to press - the atmosphere is extremely relaxed.

Returning for our 7th year. The most friendly and accomodating staff you could ask for. Set on the banks of the Dordogne River, the campsite offers you a quiet, uninterrupted spot of pleasure to relax. With easy access to the picturesque village of St-Cyprien hosting a weekly (Thursday) Marché Gourmand during peak season (July and August), an ideal opportunity to be part of the community. We couldn't be more happy to visit once again to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.Highly Recommended

We intended to stay for two days and ended up here for eight. Some great shady spots and good sized pitches. Right by the river and a ten minute walk from Carrefour. Another five minutes takes you into the centre of St Cyprien which has all you need. A never ending supply of hot water and good sized shower cubicles. A great location for exploring the area. Swimming pool not really big enough to swim in but good for a cool down. Had it been a little cheaper we would have stayed longer. We are quite sad to leave and will return.
