Latest reviews for CAMPING LE VERDOYANT
We found this campsite on the way north. What a great find! The owner Christophe, welcomed us and gave us carte blanche to find the pitch of our choice. We found a flat, spacious pitch with a view of the lake and donkies in the field. We had planned to stay one night but so enjoyed our evening, we decided to stay a further two nights. On our second night we ate in the restaurant and couldn't fault the wonderful meal cooked by Co owner Vero and plan to eat there again tonight. The menu has something for everyone's taste. We sat outside watching the sun setting over the pool.I have read some negative comments and cannot understand their reasoning. We are british and were met with nothing but politness and helpfulness. We have been camping the length and breadth of Europe since 2005 and never stayed in a more tranquil and friendly environment. The prices are very fair and half some the prices we have paid this year at inferior campsites. We plan to come again next year and enjoy all the local places of interest.
We have owned a property opposite camping le Verdoyant for 3 years but never used the bar and restaurant because I read a review saying that the owners don't like the English, we have been here for the last 3 weeks and probably been to the bar about 8 times and eaten in the restaurant twice and have found the owners to be polite and helpful, the beer is a good price and the food is good, we have 2 boys 6 and 9 and there is plenty to entertain them with football and park area.I am so glad we decided to try it this stay as it makes it nice to join in with the French while they are on holiday. The caravan park area looks really good with plenty to do.Wortha visit
First the positive. This campsite did have a very nice large pitch area with lots of shady area's. Next the negatives. The owner hates the English, and is not afraid to show it. He was very rude to my wife on multiple occasions and we felt very unwelcome. They have all the different flags except the Union Jack and we were told by someone onsite he does not like the English. We tried to book in to another site but they were all fully booked. Also the pool has no shallow end so no good for small children and the toilet / shower area was not nice and very unpleasant. One to avoid!
Calm, green, fits the description of an oasis. You can fish, enjoy the swimming pool and dine well. Food is made by the Véro part owner and also chef. Owned and run by the lovely couple Véro and Christophe.
The campground lights stay on all night! That’s my only complaint but for tent campers it’s a big one!
