Latest reviews for CAMPING LE MARACHE
We were disappointed by this site. Our plot size was fine with lovely sub tropical plants giving privacy from adjoing plots but enclosed by a canopy of high trees. The weather had been very wet on and off and overcast which made the plot very dark. Our main problem was with the sanitary facilities. No toilet paper, no hand wash nor hand driers. The block was also open to the elements so no heating which did not make showering pleasant. The restaurant was not owned by the site and it appeared was open to non residents . Some nights the noise was much too loud and went on much too late. The staff were very nice and helpful directing us to bike tracks which were excellent. The swimming pool was well maintained with nice loungers and an opportunity to enjoy some open space when rhe weather allowed. There were a couple of showers there that were heated and pleasant to use.
I am giving 3 stars because of the mosquitoes 🦟 and one unfriendly staff. If you are planning to visit this camping ground, I would strongly recommend bringing plenty of mosquito repellent. My wife and I stayed there for only one night in September and were absolutely overwhelmed with the amount of mosquitoes 🦟. It was so bad that we had to retreat into our van and were unable to enjoy the evening. We felt so sorry for our little daughter, who is just over one, and for our son as they both suffered from a lot of bites. It is quite surprising that no one has ever mentioned this mosquito problem in the reviews. Despite this, the place has a beautiful tropical feeling 🌴 and it is clear that the owners have taken a lot of pride in creating it. We also thoroughly enjoyed the pool and the playground. One Love.
I had a very nice shady place which was sufficiently large and with your own watertub. Toilets and showers were clean. Additionally the site has a very nice pool, jacuzzi and restaurant (altough I did not like the soccergame on Friday till 2315...). Several nice beaches and the hihest European dune are close by, as well as a very friendly service! So worth while to return again to this campsite that has a bit of park atmosphere due to the nice variety of threes offering sufficient shade at temperatures around 35 degrees of celcius 😍
We stayed here in order to travel into Bordeaux to watch the Rugby World Cup pool stages over a couple of weekends. For access to Bordeaux, the site is perfect. The site itself is very green and gives the feeling of privacy, although pitch sizes are more for campers rather than caravans. The lady in reception spoke excellent English and was really helpful and friendly. There is plenty to see and do in the area.Unfortunately, the site is let down by the sanitary block. There are inadequate showers and toilets for the number of pitches (we were in low season, so I imagine it's much worse in high season), the plumbng needs upgrading as the showers run dry as soon as a loo is flushed, and the toilet blocks were filthy (grime on fittings that had probably been there all season). We never saw the block being cleaned in a 12 night stay. The mens facilities were closed down during our stay (presumably because the site was due to close for winter in a weeks time) and everyone had to use the ladies facilities. Also, there are no bins near the block so there was always food waste left in the washing up sinks. We ended up using our onboard facilities rather than those of the site. Finally, the area does have a mosquito problem due to the nature of the landscape there. This is not the campsites fault however, all the abundant greenery does encourage mosquitos and during our visit they were savage.
A small but very cosy campsite. The vegetation and the flowers are surprising. The people in charge of the campsite were very friendly. And the food in the restaurant was generally very good.
