Latest reviews for YELLOH! VILLAGE BORDEAUX LAC
Nice campsite, very clean, toilets and showers were super clean. Nice pool, a bit small in high season. Pitches are spacious and good, either lots of trees shades. We paid €45 for a tent and a car, a bit pricey but okay. Very close to Bordeaux city centre, you can take a shared bike in front of the camp site and ride it to centre.
A poorly maintained site, with scruffy and muddy pitches. There are charges for water unless you have a very small container and can use mixer taps inside the toilet. We were plagued by ants and mosquitos, the lakes were full of green algae and the pool and sanitary facilities are too small for the size of the site. Good location for Bordeaux but if there is a next time I shall be finding a better site with train links to the city. Sadly, having read the reviews from 2021 onwards they clearly do not act upon feedback.
We stayed as a campervan for two nights, 31 Aug - 2 Sept, so I understand that we were at the end of the season. The reception and shop were both sufficient for the usual bakery and produce, with nice staff. The location for accessing bordeux, amazing, either 20mins walk to the tram or the local bus from the entrance to the site (doesn't run on Sun). The site was probably only partially full, the small kids pool was not open however the larger (not large) pool was OK, not guarded as suggested, but again maybe because we were at the end of the season and wasn't too busy. The pitch was flat, sandy and again fine as were the ablutions, not overcrowded at this time at all. However, come the 1 Sept, everything ceased to be, the resturant, which was excellent (little pricy avg €24-30) the day before was then closed, the roti chicken placard was not on offer at all and there was no suggestion as to why, and the snack bar decided to only offer the pizza cheese option, much to everyone's annoyance. Rather than take the menu down, the poor lad had to then explain the only option to every visiting customer. There was no signs to suggest the main restaurant would be closed either. The noise from the road come Monday was excessive, and just as well we were leaving. In essence, it's a camping chain, looked great for kids in the season, and just about suitable for couples with the amazing access to Bordeux - if you're not visiting the city I'd give it a miss.
We stayed at a campervan pitch for 3 nights as a stop over to visit Bordeaux. What a campsite.I have two children age 5 and 9 and they absolutely loved it. The swimming pools are fantastic super clean! The lake areas are beautiful. The play area and bouncy castles are a fab place for kids toPlay. The food from the snack bar is insane! We also went to the restaurant for food and watched it being cooked outside on the bbq area it was beautifully cooked and so tasty. Staff are very helpful and did try to understand our English language. The shower and toilet facilities for campers were lovely and clean. They were always kept on top of. We would highly recommend this site to anyone. The live French music at the bar area was a bonus and really made our experience. We will definitely return here.Couldn’t say one negative thing 5 stars from our Welsh family!!
“Adequate” for a 2 Night stay, I wouldn’t stay any longer. Campsite looks tired and poorly maintained. We stayed in our caravan and the pitches are very sandy/gravely and not even close to level. Toilet blocks, showers in particular not that clean. Lakes smell awful. Also have to pay to empty your toilet waste?!However, lovely staff, good bar and snack area, 24hrs snack / shop and great links into Bordeaux.
