Latest reviews for CAMPING DE MAUBUISSON
Together with my boyfriend (a young couple from the Netherlands) I went to camping Maubuisson this summer. Meaubuisson is beautiful and it's really nice that you can choose between going to the ocean or to the lake. We would definitely come back but not to camping Maubuisson. We came from another camping where we socialized a lot. Something we really missed at camping Maubuisson. There are a lot of regular guests who have a mobile home or their own caravans and most of them don't maintain them well. We missed social contact with other not regular guests. On our first night we a burglar visited us (nothing was stolen, but it was really weird). Our neighbors were really noisy in the evening (vacuuming at 23:30...) And we had to deal with a really bad smell (coming from those same neighbors). Our direct neighbors left after two nights because of the smell. The staff was nice and gave us the possibility to switch to another spot. The toilets were cleaned a few times a day (which was nice), but also the sanitary facilities were really outdated. Cold water, no light, etc.If we could give the owners a tip: create more space for the not regular guests so it is easier to socialize and ask the regular guests to keep their caravans clean/take care of.Maybe it was just bad luck, maybe some regular guests are just a bit strange (for us) but we still think that the camping can get some improvements.
My friends and I honestly had a great experience. We arrived with no reservation in the busiest time of the year in this region and we could come in no problem. Staff was incredibly helpful and seemed to really understand what type of people we were. They appointed us to a spot on a quiet hill, pretty off road and far away from other tents. Perfect for a couple youngsters. The facilities were plentiful (genuinely the perfect amount of toilet buildings) and were generally as clean as you get on campings. The general vibe of the camping was pleasant and laid back. The site as well as the area around the site are beautiful.Compliments to the staff. I might come back here one day and I'm not one to say that about campings. One thing to be wary for is that a couple of wild boars came by our tent to sniff us which can be a bit stressful for some, but exciting for others, be sure to keep your trash inside or up high as they WILL try to eat anything with a food smell.
Stayed one night in our motorhome. Very disappointed due to noisy neighbours in their tented complex durrounded by their fencing. Who then took to wandering around eith torches at 2am! Not what we expected and didn't sleep easy....
Somewhat overpriced for cycle touring. It's a large site and we ended up quite a walk to the nearest loo's and washing facilities which weren't particularly clean. Should have stayed at the municipal camping at Carcan place. The pool was welcome but the midges from the lake got a bit much at times
Set in pine trees with good facilities. Open from mid-March to Mid-November.
