Latest reviews for CAMPING HUTTOPIA LAC DE CARCANS
The site is situated in a beautiful pine forest a few minutes walk from the lovely lake so that is excellent and it really is super for children too.The staff were wonderful, friendly and polite and went out of their way to be helpful. Area is brilliant too. Lovely to have the children out playing all the time in the pedestrian only section. The huts are rather packed in but this didn’t affect our enjoyment. We camped and for those that damp regularly, the pitches are not delineated so people do regularly walk through the pitches on their way to somewhere. I would say more care could be taken in the placement of some pitches as we were in an obviously child friendly area with child bathroom etc but also a group of young people that wanted to party (fair enough) but could have been better placed in a different area of the site. Not the fault of the site though as it really is up to the actions of the individuals.Daily fresh bread, nice pizzas and we went just at the right time at the end of July as it was started to get busy when we left. Some maintenance is required as many lights were out and in bloc sanitaire 1, several of the motion sensor lights didn’t work and the showers mainly stayed on for 8 seconds, literally, so that was disappointing and I’d expect more for the price. All in all, if you are regular campers, you might need to know that because thr mainstay are the cabins, some people don’t have usual campsite etiquette (quiet after 10, wiping shower floors, not walking through other peoples space etc) but overall, it is beautiful and the location is what makes it, and the staff. I will visit again, I’m sure!
This is an amazing campsite so close to the lake and a cycle ride to the beach. Huttopia do camping so well - although I’m a little concerned that every year we will see fewer spaces for campers with their own equipment given the proliferation of safari tents!
Another incredible stay at Lac du Carcan Huttopia. An incredible campsite with a really friendly feel to it. Loads of space, lots of fun activities and places to visit easily by bike. Staff are wonderful. Can’t recommend more highly :)
Looking forward to our return visit but disappointed this time in how pitches are allocated. New users need to be aware of a surcharge payable at booking to allow choice of pitch. We’ve been allocated a pitch we aren’t happy with but no flexibility on being reallocated or moved.
The site is really lovely, located next to a very calm lake which is ideal for small children. The staff were excellent; so very helpful. There’s a lovely relaxed vibe there which is just what we wanted.
